Vibraphone... I don't really know the diiference Is it acoustic vs amped... Wood vs Aluminum
Had to look it up

It's a Midi -controlled percussion thingy triggered w/ mallets.
Vibrophone, marimba, piano, no telling what else.

we're talking about the instrument i'm playing in the vid, right? that's a vibraphone, not a malletKAT (though i own and play one of those too).

unlike most vibraphones, that one has pickups on it (a piezo under each bar) that actually do a very good job of reproducing the acoustic qualities of the instrument. at most of our gigs i don't have to amplify it, though. it's easiest to do so w the pickups but the best sound reinforcement is w a cpl of good mics.

those are a cpl of MXL R144 ribbon mics and they work real well for vibes.
