It's my own fault for not giving you guy more notice but it was already a 10 hour drive from St Louis to Dallas, and that 60 minute break in Lebanon didn't help. I'm heading west for autumn (where it's nice and cool) but plan to do a mid-west tour sometime at the end of the year, and I'll try to be more intentional about hooking up with you guys then.

btw, it has been my policy since the mid 80s to not do an outdoor gig between June and September. I overheat in an air-conditioned room already.

Just as an aside; I haven't been pulled over by the cops in about a decade but one of my headlights went out on Hwy 69 in McAleister, OK and I got pulled over twice in 10 minute by speed traps in 2 consecutive little podunk Oklahoma towns. The second cop was merciful when he saw that I already had a ticket.

The lesson here is avoid Hwy 69 in Oklahoma.

just got home, what a long drive 42 miles one way.. well, I was invited back next Sunday, and was offered to stay for chicken dinner too.. we really sounded good 85% of the time..outros need work.. but again, I reiterate, learning tunes note for note off a record does not always equate the rest of the band is going to be playing exactly the musical notes as the record sounds, but it's cool.. :D

I have been notified (by good authority) to avoid Oklahoma altogether if you are hauling a trailer or driving an RV. The tolls alone will eat up your pocketbook!!

Tolls in OK are not nearly as bad as the northeast. Drove the Pennsylvania turnpike from Jersey to Pittsburgh and it was FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS for 4 hours on that one road.

Going from DC to NYC will cost about $40 or more. Oh, and Florida sucks too. You stop every 2 miles in Orlando area to give them a couple bucks.

You can drive every major highway in Texas for free. Tolls are only around Houston or Dallas, with several free options.

Buddy of mine spent $60 on one hwy driving an RV towing a Jeep in OK. They charge by # of axles. The Jersey Turnpike?? Forget that one. I don't do business up there.
I take 610 in Houston to stay off the Beltway. Same w/ the Turnpike in Dallas.

I just thought the Jersey turnpike was bad...try 76 across Pennsylvania. Like I said $50 just to Pittsburgh
