Victoria, you need to meet musicians personally.
Be 'around' everywhere where musicians are. Open mikes are a great place to start.
.
Then ask people questions, like:
> Do you know anyone who likes ( . . . style of music?"
> Do you know anyone who is looking for ( . . . instrument you play, or vocals . . . )
> Can I come over to hear you guys practicing?
> Want to come over my place and play some (. . . style of music . . .)
By the way: make SURE you have an amp first, and ALL the equipment you'll need.
Print up cards with contact information, and then hand one out to everyone you meet.

She's 18, still in high school.
Victoria - others' advice is good - eget out there and interact with other musicians. In online places like this, others are going to want to hear what you can do, see videos, etc. Don't know what experience you may have, your profile doesn't indicate any. As a singer trying to put a band together, you better have a PA system, to start with.

Schmed - not sure why you can't see details on your phone, they're all there in her profile if you follow the link.

Eek! Queue Chris Hansen.

I don't follow anyone's link unless I have some real reason to. This one, not going there.
But forget what we all know (these threads don't work). She placed a want ad on the World Wide Web at large that says "starting a band" in the title and no further information on location in the text of the ad.

Make sense to you?

So what?? I started in my first band @ 13. We played @ parties.
And we sucked but who cares when you're 13, right??

I was just pointing out (the obvious) to Schmed - an inexperienced kid trying to get some experience. teenagers trying to form bands will do a lot better looking locally rather than places like this.

Here is a great place to find Musicians in your town. Get their early before the music starts so you have time to meet and talk to musicians.

And all of you missed the fact that she's in Ocala, home of the greatest live act in the states. That's right, 90 db!

She can go learn from the masters how to rip the best karaoke versions of Lay Down Sally and Margaritaville anyone ever heard.

Victoria can surely see now that this place will be no help to her. Filled with a bunch of cranky old farts. Some are younger than others, but they're still cranky!
