It's got bugger all to do with politics, all we can hope for is to conduct ourselves as gentlemen and stick to whatever principles we may have.

I'd suggest you be careful with terms like 'haters' and 'bitchers.' Starts to sound like 'Jews and niggers.' When you demonize those who don't agree with you it rarely ends well. How about something like "folks who don't agree with me?"

I'd hoped we'd learned something from the demonization of the French when they failed to support Bush's crazed attack on Iraq but I guess not.

mike, there are sh*t tons of people who don't agree w me....and vice versa. none of whom i consider 'haters' and 'bitchers.'

i reserve that distinction for those who spend all their waking moments carping, bitching and going out of their way to find things to endlessly complain and whine about. all w the intent of what???? i question the motives of those holier than thou's claiming higher moral and religious ground who instead of spreading light...only spread heat and ill will.

As it has been said of the weak , if you can't defend a point of view with facts or a decent logical argument, start name calling. These posts of yours sound like whining to me.

Now here is truth, A.F, but you will not understand it for wisdom is hidden from you, for all wisdom comes from the God you do not believe exists..

The first to yell racist, and the first to call hateful, and the first to begin name calling does this because it is what fills HIS heart. Hateful slandering and accusations come from the heart of the individual filled with such things for he sees nothing else and therefore has no other way to respond.

Have you noticed that none of your liberal friends are first to yell racism or begin slandering or name calling? Yet it has been your history to do so quite often, for that is what fills your heart, and it is revealed through your mouth when you speak and through your fingers when you post.

Now this is truth for truth is revealed to men through the wisdom of God.

Mat 15:18 But the things which come out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man. For out of the heart come forth reasonings, evil things, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies. These things are the things defiling the man.

So in this it is not those being attacked but rather the one attacking who is defiled. This is wisdom and those who are wise understand.

I had a long chat with some friends about this topic this afternoon. We were sitting in the warm (but not hot) sun of beautiful clear Georgia spring day, i was cuddling my God daughter and we were drinking wine.

We got philosophical and wondered what was causing everyong to be so virulently angry. Politics? Yeah...but why? The internet seemed like a trigger for much of it. Jump around various sights and look for Hillary and Trump. The two sides say some pretty awful things about each other.

that's only half of it. Many of us are called racists who routinely hang around black people and foriegn nationals which is really irritating. Yet it also irritates the people who for whatever reasons actually believe that. Both sides and the middle come up with 'proofs' and network news peddles bullshit by the barrel full - all apparently designed to make us angry at each other.

People on both sides of these political fences are talking ugly at a level my law enforcement training tells me is the upscale side of the violence triangle. I should note, the tip of the triangle is where it goes terminal.

Our topic today was what the heck can we do to ratchet that down? Are people going to shoot their neighbors over some political candidate?

How do we return to civilized discourse? We didn't come up with an answer. I hope there is one.

glen...chord changes are a "Western" thing. there are many cultures whose music leans more on rhythm and melody than "changes". classical Indian music would be one example.

i'm no expert on world music and others such as vinny or jook could speak more knowledgeably on this.

my apologies if you're already well aware of this and i'm speaking the obvious.

I imagine it would to someone who does not understand the things of God, however, perhaps this will help. ( Even at that it falls far short of all the times you have yelled Racist.

Psalm 14:1 " The fool says in his heart there is no God"

I have never called anyone a fool, I have only used the character description that God has given to them. If God refers to man as a man, and if he refers to woman as a woman, and if God defines someone who says in his heart there is no God a fool, then who am I to argue with Gods own definition and say otherwise?
