I am also pretty confident that there will be severe penalties for anyone "hording " food to survive . Most likely in a food crisis they will demand that all food be turned over to some community storehouse.

Naturally they could go door to door if they wanted to on a local level. But other than that the people with stashed food will simply look healthier during a famine. I'm sure your hungry neighbors would turn you in if they suspected you had a food stash and weren't sharing it with their whole family. In fact, they may not even ask. I'm sure numerous people that were going hungry for days wouldn't hesitate to break into your house to see if you have anything at all that could delay the death of their children or themselves by starvation. They will be as a horde of locusts devouring everything in their path that can be eaten. And that is exactly what would happen in the event of an EMP attack. Not a nice thought is it? I have had that thought since .22 ammo disappeared from the shelves. Hint. Go buy a good .177 or .22 pellet rifle and plenty of pellets. The Ruger Impact .22 is a good choice. and Walmart sells it at a reasonable price. I tried one without even setting the sights (It comes with a really nice scope) and @25' it split the edge of a dime sized bullseye. Way good for survival small game hunting. Some .177 may be a bit more accurate for distance in some circumstances but the Ruger is a scary nice break barrel for the price. And It would put food on the table. The velocity is similar to a .22 short which is good enough in a pinch. Just make sure to get a good supply of pellets since some branch of the regime will order a billion rounds of them just to choke off the supply if they get wise to it.

Now what is very important i feel that each and everyone knows and understands is that in the "event' of a National, international, False flag, Nuclear, Celestial or "Natural" emergency … even economic failure … then rural populations will be rounded up and taken whilst the Urban ones are told to "shelter in place".

Preppers in my opinion will be the first and primary target … they will be automatically in violation of the Emergency Powers Act and Martial Lawand their hoards of food supplies and guns and ammunition will be taken along with them.
