Cibolo Creek Ranch owner John Poindexter reported that "We discovered the judge in bed, a pillow over his head. His bed clothes were unwrinkled"

It should also be noted that Marfa has no local police department, and is a playground hideaway for Hollywood types and political lefties

It's one of the rare "blue" counties in Texas, with Democrat control at the county level, which includes the Judge and the Marshalls who contradicted the reports of the first witnesses to find the body and said there were no signs of foul play...without any investigation whatsoever.

In response to the controversy, Judge Guevara, who decided an autopsy was unnecessary, has provided a few more details on Scalia's health. She told the AP on Monday that Scalia's physician, Rear Admiral Brian P. Monahan, told her he had a history of heart problems and high blood pressure. He injured his shoulder recently, but was deemed too weak to undergo surgery. Guevara said Monahan told her the justice had doctor's appointments on Wednesday and Thursday last week and an MRI on his shoulder.

My mom has had high blood pressure since the 70s...still kicking today. My dad had "heart problems" with quintuple bypass in 1990, then quadruple bypass 10 years later, and lived another 12 years.

So he had an appointment with a doctor coming up for his shoulder but nothing about his health being bad at the time, or feeling bad. He was having a good time with plenty of witnesses the night before, according to the photos taken with him being all smiles.

Bryan Garner, one of Scalia's close friends, said he mentioned that he'd torn his rotator cuff again, joking, "The world of tennis has lost a great competitor." He also said last week that he was dealing with a "head cold," but never discussed issues with his heart or blood pressure and seemed "strong as ever" to Garner.

It's not all that fishy that Scalia failed to give his friend a full rundown on his health, and it's legal in Texas for an inquest to be performed via phone. But the whole process does seem oddly disorganized for the death of such a high-profile government official

It's all a show for politics now. If it isn't someone reasonable (and it won't be), the process will be dragged out until O has left and then they will not be accepted.

I was just told that Scalia has ALREADY been cremated. That's less than 48 hours....haven't been able to verify that yet. I have been able to verify that Obama is going to skip the funeral/memorial.

nothing fishy about that if it's true, eh?

Under the Texas Criminal Procedure Code, Section 49.04, there are a number of scenarios that call for an investigation. One is where a “person dies without having been attended by a physician.” The death of Justice Scalia fits this definition.

Former death investigator Joseph Scott Morgan is troubled that, at least according to what is publicly known, a limited examination did not occur. Morgan, who spent more than 20 years investigating deaths in Louisiana and Georgia, and authored a memoir about his career, believes that, at a minimum, a thorough external examination should have been done, together with collection of bodily fluids for testing. If nothing else, that would put to rest conspiracy theorists.

Joe Biden from 1992 was emphatic...

. "It is my view that if the president goes the way of Presidents Fillmore and Johnson and presses an election year nomination, the Senate Judiciary Committee should seriously consider not scheduling confirmation hearings on the nomination until after the political campaign season is over," the then-Judiciary Committee chairman said.

"Some will criticize such a decision and say that it is nothing more than an attempt to save a seat on the court in hopes that a Democrat would be able to fill it," Biden continued. "Instead, it would be our pragmatic conclusion that once the political season is under way (and it is) action on a Supreme Court nomination must be put off until after the election campaign is over. That is what is fair to the nominee and essential to the process. Otherwise, it seems to me . . . we will be in deep trouble as an institution."

I can find these kinds of quotes from a half dozen (at least) Democrats but only one Republican, Mitch McConnell.

That's not what Obama, or Biden, or Shumer, or any other Democrat who had the chance has said????

The Constitution says it is the SENATE and the President who do this. He makes the pick, but only under the ADVICE AND CONSENT of the Senate

Not that the law really matters to the lefties who have hypocritically done the exact same thing they are whining about now with every chance they've had for the last 50 years.

In this case, the nation needs the Republicans to give them a little payback.

Not really.

Did you watch the video report CNN has on the same page? There are still several legitimate unanswered questions.

It may be entirely true that he died of natural causes...but that can never be proven now. For such a high-ranking person it is still quite suspicious that absolutely no investigation was done except a quick glance at the scene.

If the reverse had happened and it was as high-ranking a figure that was a Democrat, like say Obama, you'd be screaming and we all know it.
