Networking is good. 8) I've been finding out more about open mics and jam sessions in the area. As somebody wrote in another thread, sometimes you have to go looking, or you won't know what and who is out there.
Here are the ones I know of, in no particular order:
I haven't been up to the Highlands Coffee House in Thomaston yet, but other BandMix members have told me there's a pretty good crowd there. Thursdays, 6:30 PM.
The Montsweag Roadhouse in Wiscasset has one on Tuesday nights; I've seen both 6:30 and 7:00 PM for the start time.
The Sheepscot General Store in Whitefield has theirs on the third Friday of every month, 7:00 PM. The January event featured Sugarbush, a Waldo County-based trio.
Since the open mics at Round Top Center for the Arts closed last June, Savory Maine Dining and Provisions in Damariscotta has been hosting them. The next one will be on Wednesday Feb. 10. Sign-up begins at 6:00 PM.
Can anyone chime in about the ones at Boat Builders Pub or Byrnes' Irish Pub in Bath?
There's also a Maine Acoustic Music Players (MAMP) group on Meetup that is supposed to be getting active again soon with jam sessions at Savory Maine in Damariscotta, possibly on Monday nights.
Most if not all of the above venues or groups have Facebook pages, but not all of them are updated regularly. Does anyone know of other open mics or jam sessions between Brunswick and Rockland?

To the OP, just so you know, this was directed at the Troll who infested this forum over the weekend, and whose posts have been deleted!

Oh, okay. Thanks for the clarification.
I have no real talent, but I don't let that stop me.

BTW, I'm originally from your area. Lived further northeast in Essex County from '62-'93. I once worked at the old Zayre store in Methuen, from '73-'74.

The Maine Acoustic Music Players (MAMP) group had its first meetup March 28 at Savory Maine Dining & Provisions in Damariscotta, and it was a good jam. The next one will be Monday, April 25. It's an all-acoustic, all-inclusive jam session.

The next open mic at Savory Maine (Damariscotta Open Mic Group of Facebook) will be Wednesday, May 11, at Savory Maine. It will be a benefit for the restoration of the fish ladder at Damariscotta Mills.
