Damn man, you're parents must have loved you. Mine were more low key, I got Judy Collins and the Byrd's first album which actually weren't bad.

My father used to call all rock and roll "a bunch of carpenters" (banging and sawing). I can remember him shaking his head in disgust as the family watched the Beatles on Ed Sullivan the first time.

that third Santana album...that's the one! hands down my fave Santana album, and hands down my fave of all the Santana lineups.

they are getting that lineup back together to do an album w tour support that is supposed to be "Santana IV" picking up on that same vibe of SANTANA III....sadly it will be minus bassplayer Dave Brown (deceased) and minus Chepito (percussion/trumpet) who as i understand it has gone around the bend.

My dad loved music too - but old style stuff. he was a professional piano player. Big band, singer stuff like Sinatra and Louis Armstrong (but not jazz).

My father was more into the Frank Sinatra thing but he played drums and would sit in with the local bands from time to time.
