A dark day for me personally, Bowie was ever an inspiration.

Evidently not to 'RGMix' (by the way RG, the proper grammatical word would be 'knew', not 'new'). The loss of any serviceman is tragic, but no one here knew (not new) him. Why not bitch about the dozens of others killed in the last few months?

Here's my quick 'RIP' to Bowie:

Keep going Jimmy BOY. Just keep talking your sh it. Your total lack of respect and Trolling will never change. I would say that I feel sorry for you however, little hot heads like you will never learn. Now that your old and on so many drugs I guess I will just cut you slack and let you slim your way around. Have a nice day.

I don't think anyone here would downplay the death of any serviceman in action. My heart also goes out to those in the Middle East who are being killed every day for their spiritual beliefs. The world is full of evil people.

I'm not trying to make a 'martyr' out of Bowie, far from it. I'm really not a big fan as far as that is concerned. But some of his music brings back memories of a more innocent era in my life. A time I wish I could go back to but it's long gone. It's just a nostalgia trip on my part.

I agree, Bowies music is the soundtrack of my life. He will forever be missed!

mike, this has been and IS me being respectful.

and i believe that your's and just about everyone else's version of
"respectful" is pretty much the same... big respect goes to those deserving, and less goes to those less deserving. and.... just like everything else we apply our judgments to...there's the good ol' sliding scale that gets put into place.

that pretty much sums up my version of being respectful.

That PLANET GUY he's pretty wise....even if as Haley pointed out....he's "a BAFOON"!

and though i may not know what a "BAFOON" is, i do know how "buffoon" is spelled!

damn, sucker that i am...you got me yet AGAIN with that clever move! DOH!

have you been taking lying lessons from glenny?   might as well study w the best, eh? but i see you have some potential. good for you!

hey chump, here's some advice: you don't have to go out of your way to appear a dunce. ....just be yourself and that comes thru just fine! fear not, no one's ever gonna confuse you w a mensa candidate.

...or maybe you were calling me a "bassoon"??

and you know...you DELIBERATELY misspelled it to show me up!

say, Goldie...you got some other ways to make yourself look braindead....to razz me?

(i know you're not too bright so I'm including a pic as you may not know what a bassoon is.....or in your wily and clever strategy, you simply choose to only APPEAR an ignorant mouth breather to confound me!)

i'm glad i DON'T have one because that'd mean i'd have to learn to navigate a double reed instrument. i can't do much but squeak on a SINGLE reed instrument!

but i agree, they are SUPER cool machines. then again, oboe and english horn are pretty spiffy as well.

saw bela fleck a few yrs back and he had this monster bassoonist w him. (or as haley might say in a "deliberate" effort to appear a moron so as to mock me...a "bafoonist")

the guy completely stole the show!

PG

I should note that in a very well done PBS broadcast of "Sharpe's Rifles" the Duke of Wellington complained that London instead of sending him real soldiers was sending him "effete, over fed bafoons!"

I ain't arguing with the Iron Duke! 8)

cheers
