I'm not saying Dear was certifiably crazy or not. I'm not a licensed psychiatrist and I don't think we have one on these boards. I do believe that all the evidence must be brought out and weighed to find out where this guy's head is at.

What gets me is all the gun violence that doesn't get press coverage that happens every day in our towns and cities. It's never reported in the newspaper and it's swept under the rug. It's the gangsta drug shootings that occur throughout this country on a regular basis and it all involves coke and meth dealers. I bet you good money that it occurs every few seconds somewhere in this country. Young Black males are dying by the armloads but their deaths aren't front page news. Why? Because they are a forgotten sect of modern society. Civic leaders are doing nothing about it. It seems the law and the press just let them shoot it out..

And that's why we can't trust our government. They ignore those things as if they can't see.....and yet are looking at solutions to less-important issues which will only make more of us victims.

Re Reagan cutting loose the loonies. Nah... That was Carter. I was in Baltimore in those days and the effects were immediately obvious - nutty people all over the place.

I worked a homeless ministry on Sundays in Atlanta for a number of years and I only recall one family ever showing up and we sorted them out. Most of the folks were guys and either nutty or druggy or both.

If you have FaceBook look me up - I posted a Flash Non Fiction the other day about my encounter with a 'homeless' person while working security in the middle of the night. I won't say the cat was a zombie but damn sure the closest I've seen to that un-exalted state.

So you're trying to imply that he did this because he's a "christian" though the evidence, even from his wife, says he doesn't follow the "rule book" and doesn't do the things a christian is supposed to do. It's like saying Calvin Johnson is a basketball player only because he's tall, even though he plays by the rules of the NFL in a different game. This causation game always works both ways:
