I was checking around the forum and glad to see someone else enjoys visual kei and jrock. Not in the area, so i figured I'd give it a shot and see if i cant find musicians who enjoy visual kei and could dedicate effort to the whole shabang. As it stands i have a band put together but some of the components are a bit unsure. I am not in a rush. My ocd wont let me rush this project.

Still, i want to see if there are any musicians will to put the work in. Everything is set, mission statement wise. Just need to get to work. 21 - 30 years old in the NJ and NYC area. Guitarist, drummer, vocalist. You dont have to be god on the instrument. Just have heart! Shoot a line! ( °u°)

There was a guy in the south talking about this and a guy in Jersey looking to hire him, a couple of months ago.
That's all I know about this stuff.

Hardly any members of Bandmix participate in this forum. You're just gonna have to get all the info in your profile to convey your interest in this style to prospective members. Also, search for a forum for that sub-genre. Maybe Ultimate Guitar forum? I don't know.

Uh hello there, I just made an account literally 10 minutes ago to search for people that are interested in Jrock. It appears that you all are the only ones on this band mix site that likes it, at least that's what I believe. Hopefully I'm not being a bother by randomly arriving and replying, but I'm also interested in Jrock and similar things. I'm a bassist, I play decently but I'm no rock god. If you would like to talk more about this stuff with me please let me know, thanks.

In these sort of niche genres you don't have to be a 'rock god.' What you have to do in find the right folks and work together to develop a product. Your playing skills will improve vastly as you do that.

Avoid on line collaboration - that won't get you were you want to go - you need to work closely together and believe in the same things and never never give up.

It's doable!

Good luck to both of you and God bless

Thanks Mike, I'm currently just looking for people with the same interests. I don't mind online collaborations, as long as we can work everything out and have fun making music together and stuff, that's all that matters to me at the moment. I mean sure, one day I would like to seek more than this, I would hope the best for my group and hopefully we could make it farther together and start doing our own gigs and such, but for now I seek to find friendly people who enjoy this music such as I do, and would like to give an attempt to create music together as well. I never search for someone's skill level either, it's how passionate they are about making music that I really like, I enjoy someone who really has emotion for music and puts it in their music for others to feel. They could be a beginner and I wouldn't mind, if I feel like they really want to work hard and think they have a good feeling and connection towards music, then I would accept them any day.

It's doable (online collaboration). If you find the right people. One lazy bastard will bring the thing down, though. Don't be that member. :D

Here's a great band started by two members who realized they liked the same stuff when they met online.
One is in India, one in Norway. The Indian sings and programs drums, both very well. The Norwegian plays guitar and bass. As far as I know, they still haven't met in person. It could be a good start, but from what I'm reading about this Visual Kei Metal, It's all about the stage show. Eventually you're going to have to get in the same room.

Don't need to be a rock god indeed! Although, and this will be surprising, i actually have a bassist. Visual kei really is about the presentation of the music, and band, and i am all about that! Seems like there is a ton of dedication to the craft when you bring in costumes and the sort. I know a lot of die hard metal fans don't dig it, but im sure the net is a little bigger than just them and if there weren't a want for such bands, the genre would have died!

Still haven't seen or heard it. Put up a YouTube video that you feel represents it best.

I can't post what -i- feel represents visual kei. I can only point to general census of fans. Visual kei is a extreme glam rock variation. Japan X is credited as taking visual kei and running with it. https://youtu.be/Fh7XVBzAsgg i think if you youtube visual kei, any video will be correct. My personal favorites are Nightmare, Versailles and D.

I used to watch these guys back in the 80's when I lived in Japan at the local clubs.
