in my opinion, you will need to hire some good artists to give your posters it a little bite.. the famous Hendrix poster with Hendrix's hair blossoming out psychedelically as an example..

Dayne: I do understand what you are saying; however, our posters are hand made using hand-set letterpress type that is over 100 years old. The Babcock press that we use at one time ran on steam. We can incorporate pictures (images) but we are limited on a few things. What we offer is a truly vintage style that uses mostly hand made woodcut designs, and or linoleum cuts with wood or lead type.

Thanks for the response it is much appreciated. Take a minute and check out how we do it.

People are doing it all digitally now, while yours may hold up overtime, they don't offer anything extra for today's market.

Interesting post Guitar Mike. That would be like saying playing guitar live has nothing to offer when I can create music using a Digital Audio Workstation.
Digital printing has many positives, but some people just like the look and feel of a hand made vintage style poster.

No, it's more like saying rocks and logs no longer are good for percussion because we have better instruments now. Sure, you can use rocks and drums, but ...

That's a very neat concept, but you see you've got the wrong crowd here. :?

I like the look, timeless. Fortunately, I suspect your market segment is big enough that you don't have to worry too much about people who don't get it.

Here are some posters from my favorite band. They let the owner/ operator of this site organize who is submitting work for each tour stop. That's about where the band's involvement begins and ends. They trust the artists and the fans buy them up. The posters on this site are the ones that are still available.
