Hello everyone, I am a musician coming to LA from Europe, I was wandering if traveling by bus is safe or I will have to get myself a car. Thank you for the info.

Oh you are going to HATE traffic in L.A.

It's "safe" on the bus but try to avoid Watts and east L.A. Do you know what city you'll be in? The Metro (train) is pretty good actually...but again...it depends on where you are and where you need to be. As a Texan, I can't imagine not having a car so I can go when I want and where...with everything I'll need when arriving.

But hey....welcome to America! Hope you find what you're looking for. Venice Beach is as wild as Amsterdam.

The LA trains came after I left. Just thinking about such a thing makes me want to write a horror story.

Hi Yod, I want to thank you for your reply. My notification settings must de tweaked. You are right about the car thing; I have been staying in LA and didn't travel at all, just making music there. You're right about going to the beach by bus, it takes ages. But yes thank you so much for your advise. All the best!

Thank you for your reply. It took me a long time to reply cause my notification settings need to be tweaked. I am considering to buy a car and re sell it when I will leave in 3 months.

If you're only going to be there for 3 months that would be crazy. Use Uber or Lift instead.

And if you do buy a car, don't tell the dealership (or private buyer) that you're leaving the country when you go to sell. They'll use that against you to lower their offer.
