so, if i understand him correctly he's NOT calling for everyone to surrender their guns or forbid ownership but instead he saying....

"A background check takes two to three minutes. I just really believe everyone who purchases a firearm in our nation should go through a background check,"

I attend a lot of personal property auctions, it's how I make a living, it used to be buying a handgun at auction involved a ton of paperwork and took days to get your gun, they have changed the law and made it easier to buy .. made it a lot easier, you can take the handgun home the same day now, if you are a Missouri resident that is..
Mark why do we live in this screwed up state? lax guns laws, no medicaid expansion thru Obamacare, nasty conservatives every where I go.. here them slamming obama at the wallyworld, at the restaurant I overhear them and you would think you were at bandmix forum..

this post is on topic although it is Missouri gun laws:
I made a comment earlier in this thread, and to prove I was not making it up, here is the article:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-weis ... 23402.html

The last time Missouri made it easier for its citizens to arm themselves was in 2007 when the legislature abolished a law which required that people wishing to buy handguns first had to go to the police department and get a permit-to-purchase (PTP) in order to take possession of the gun. To show you how successful this measure was in helping good-guy Missourians use guns to protect themselves from bad-guy Missourians, the gun homicide rate over the next three years jumped by almost 25 percent, even though the non-gun homicide rate remained about the same.

a dude who is a business associate and will remain nameless cause dane ain't no narc, :( walks around at 2 of the local swap meets I frequent every week, he always has his holster and handgun strapped on, and although legal in Missouri, I never like him setting up next to me to peddle, when I'm setting up and selling, I believe it scares potential customers and they shy away from a character that looks like he rode in on a horse straight from the 1850's in Missouri.. it just does not feel right..although it's legal here.. Loftis pawn shop dude carried a handgun in a holster years ago, but a pawn shop clerk is a dangerous job anyhow.. you east coast guys that love guns need to move to Missouri.. is New York cool with guns? HA HA

It only takes 5 minutes for some one to take a road test... Another maniac on the road.

SPOONS... Doesn't any one realize how many people die every year... because of spoons?

Spoons are the #1 reason for obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and a list of degenerative disease that is so long, that no one would read this.

Where the hell is our overwhelmingly, protective government? If you just take away all the spoons, people won't be able to eat so much MONSANTO sanctioned crap and we won't have so many crazy people running around.

Personally I only eat my soup with a fork to avoid over eating. I know... I know... Forks are a whole different issue and a weapon in there own class. However fork and spoon control will never happen because the huge pharmaceutical and medical lobbies have way too much to lose. :P
