This is a new thing in Dallas....seems like a good idea for a punk band (or any band, I suppose) to pick up an extra paying gig.

The cool thing is that you don't actually have to be able to sing when it's with a punk band.

That came to PHX years ago and I read at the time that it was a band made up entirely of real punk musicians from LA. People you would know if you listened to the genre. I love punk, mostly the stuff that's crossed over at least a little with metal. But you're right, straight up Punk, vocal skills not necessarily needed. Just a sense of timing. It's mostly just angry rapping. In a silly accent.

btw i'm working up a prototype of my new Punk Karaoke Jukebox.....but still working on getting the bugs out of the spitting.

the workup has been set up w a retrofitted "sneeze guard" from a Ken's Pizza Salad Bar to protect it's swiss watch like inner workings.... but controlling the directionality of the spitting coming off the juke box has been challenging.

You've got a massive wall of guitars sound there, man. What a landscape! Love it.

But that sounded more like a recording off the board at a live gig. The singer was pushing it sharp on every song but one...my guess was because the guitar was so loud.

Thanks Ted. Rasta has come a long way with his voice. He's not a singer, he's more of a performer-front man but he's gotten much better in the past 15 years. I would like to go back to play with the original tracks, maybe use Antares on his voice. When used tastefully it can help correct pitchy singer issues.

Not trying to be critical, you guys sounded great. Just noticed he was pushing hard, making it go a little sharp...and assumed he was competing with stage volumes.

That also is very authentic punk.

So was that recorded live?

If someone insults a genre of music I enjoy, I thank them for their opinion.
Then I consider the source.
