Just thinking about the players that come out to my open mics, and those who will go to play in front of strangers at an audition. Big balls compared to the wannabes, or just big-headed (maybe some times) or too dumb to realize they shoudlbe nervous?

It takes "big balls" to play for free in an empty bar on a Wednesday night?

Priceless.

With all due respect, of course.

Maybe the main part of Bandmix is what you're looking for. I've never even seen two people from the same zip code on this forum.

Nice way to introduce yourself to the forum. The place is hardly 'empty'. Yes, it does take balls to get up and play/sing with just your voice and and a guitar - no 'preprogrammed backing tracks'. Certainly more balls than sitting in a bedroom waiting for the 'right band'.

Don't have to "introduce" myself. I was a member here before you were.

Where are you working, man? Used to be a lot of working musicians on this forum - now, we've got you complaining about "wannabees".

Priceless.

Actually, that is a ball sack of a Japanese Raccoon Dog, Tanuki ... popular in Japanese folk mythology, where they are legendary for their big balls.

I'm so offended. Please, someone remove this vulgar image from my Victorian sensibilities!

Yet, this is how you start posting on the new forum.

I run this particular open mic (and get paid to do so). I played a 90 minute set at a big fest in July. Playing a town street fest in a few weeks. Hope you are your wife are getting lots of gigs.

My apologies, Your Grace. When I left the forum, it was before you became the self-appointed arbiter of propriety. Actually, it was two years before you were even here. There were a lot of active, professional musicians here then.

Yes, we are, thank you. We're booked pretty solid. No High School reunions, though, unfortunately.

FWIW, I didn't play at my reunion - the restaurant already had a piano bar going.

I'm sure the lounge act music is very popular with the FL retirees during the early-bird dinners.

So, this wasn't you?

"During the day our Class of 74 sponsored a tent in the town's 375 anniversary celebration weekend event - a SeaFest at the marina off the Cape Cod Canal. I was hoping some other local players would come to jam, but I ended up playing a 90 minute solo set (longest I've ever played solo - and with no lyric sheets!)"

Now, now, Your Grace, you know better than that. You've been to our website and seen our song list, no? I doubt that you could cover much of what we do. :D

We play a lot of biker bars these days. That clientele would eat you alive.

Prattle on, Wannabee. 8)
