And that may surprise some of you guys here at Bandmix.
:/
I just posted “3 Bold Chords” on my page, and I had to delete TWO songs to do that.
:(
But I think a lot of you guys will like this song, and I really wanted to share it with you.
.
> It’s a fast song (130bpm) and pretty high energy.
> Some of you may identify with the lyrics.
> Fast, melodic Bass line.
> 1 key change.
> Harmonies throughout.
.
Enjoy, my friends.

I'd like to hear you use mics to record the acoustic, this one was more noticeably using the pickup.

Sometimes I'm not sure what style a song is; what style would you call it?

You've got me thinking, again.
I was thinking about song labels.
.
This is a public forum, so it's okay for anyone to speak . (That would be you).
.
I know some people don't like to put labels on songs, but, unfortunately, the reality is that musicians DO have to put labels on their music.
Any time we upload a song we're asked to label the style. When I record a song, a list of about 100 labels comes up.
And when a stranger asked me what kinds of songs I play, I have to answer her/him, somehow . . .
To communicate, we . . . well, we just need the right words . . .
Most of my stuff is between categories, I think, but, being forced to label it something . . .
"3 Bold Chords." Maybe it's "Folk-Rock?"
. . . chime in . . .
.
Or, just contribute to the topic, in general: labels. there must be 500 styles of music . . .

Folk Rock. I loved the music. Wasn't too into the vox or lyrics. Not really my type of thing. I gravitate towards bands that keep that stuff pretty weird. Your approach is more towards what's on the radio (rhyming on every line, singing in a straight forward voice, enunciated words, no slurring or made up words, no fx noticeable on the vox).
Incidentally, I wasn't looking at my screen and I thought the instrumental track was just a long outro of three bold chords. That worked for me. I listened to both in a row five times. I couldn't get the third track to play. That sucked.
Keep up the good work. I might get over my various roadblocks (both real and mental) and post up some of my music on here.

Thanks, Schmedidiah.

The 1st Song was "3 Bold Chords," 2nd "Wandering Minstrel," and the 3rd was "Bishops Pond."

The song we were talking about: "3 Bold Chords."
.
Is anyone else having trouble listening to "Bishops Pond?"

No, BP plays for me. That's the one you posted a week or two back.

When forced to label my music I choose 'acoustic rock', although many of the songs are not acoustic, and many are not rock.

Huh.
Yeah, I think I can live with calling my music something like acoustic Folk-Rock.
. . .
Ha; or I guess I could call it "Acoustic Folk Blues R&B Classical Swing Boogie Jazz Rock."
Heh; I oughta memorize that, just so I can say it at 90mph, the next time someone asks . . .
:)
