Hey old members and new, my name is Ryan. I used to post a lot on this forum a few years ago when I started out doing little vocal covers of metal songs on Youtube. I didn't have many demos and didn't know what to expect here. Turns out, I met a lot of friendly (and a few not-so-friendly) people, who, while they didn't like metal or understand it, were kind and always gave great advice. I've grown a lot since then, and so has my music. I have a fan base of about 20,000 people. I'm currently in two online metal bands, one of which just released it's third successful album. I'm also starting work on a more pop-style EP, with more of an 80's theme to it.

I recently wanted to become part of a musician's community online again, and after many google searches, Bandmix kept popping up on top, so I thought what the hell...

I can sing most every style, so if the metal vocals aren't quite your style, I always have something to suit your needs. If you want to get to know me and what I do, I'll post some links to my proudest moments, but I suggest you follow me on Youtube and check out my other videos if you find yourself becoming a fan. Thanks, and it's good to be back!

"Viruoso" - David Phelps cover (vocals + full instrumental) and is the first instrumental I've truly made.

My band Sea of Trees' newest release, Envision. Pretty metal/hardcore, but with a lot of calm, beautiful moments.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZcLTfgLtRE

The only demo we have right now for my other band Diligis. More metal, but with a soaring chorus, and a beautiful bridge.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HaowfqAf2w

A cover I did of Kamelot's "Torn"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JAkyS-c85M

Aladdin's "A Whole New World" with my friend Lauren
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLfntF6q7Bk

And The Lion King's "Be Prepared" because I just really wanted to, and I was on a Disney kick.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyUPYkolDCs

That's really all I'll burden you with for now. Like I said, if you're into watching about a hundred other vocal covers, be my guest. There are also some pretty entertaining videos on there as well. Thanks for watching!

Welcome back, Ryan; I remember you.
.
While you were away, Bandmix had some serious problems with a lot of immature behavior, which I think drove away many of the guys you remember.
Some of them still stop in from time to time.
Best wishes.
Alan

Sorry I missed your original post here, must have got buried in all the trash. Will try to listen to some of your stuff later (I'm not a metal head, though!)

Hey Ryan, You have gotten MUCH BETTER... COOL AS HELL. I remember some of the first stuff you posted. Good for you.

As far as mike b don't listen to his egomaniacal rants. Since he begged bandmix to make him a moderator he has single handedly chased off people.

If you want to hang cool... the rules are simple, talk music in life in the US... If you don't mind talking about guns and politics also... Then bring it up here.

Warning: mike has been very busy deleting posts that he finds offensive. He may only let you read what he has posted. Sorry to have to fill you in... BUT... It is refreshing to see you making progress.

Don't remember reading that anywhere. Other than from your post. Maybe you could point it out for us G in the terms of use agreement. Or did you just make that up... Is that your way of kindly telling someone to go to the back of the bus? :P

Why not coffee, all you do is spread false truths and until it became all important to backup the hatrack it has been an unwritten rule that... IF YOU JUST WANT TO TALK MUSIC, STICK TO THE OTHER INDEXES...

If you want to talk about all the other stuff in life... Post it in general chat and leave life in Canada or the US alone. The problem with that is that "GENERAL CHAT" moves much faster and is much more brutal.
So you want to stop that and let's all go back to talking music ONLY.

Sorry you feel that way... I can't solve your problems.

No Glen I don't want nor am I trying to stop it... but you just said it's unwritten and that's somehow "ok"... but if Mike or George follow the rules and guidelines that BM has set then they're censoring.

Now... I will say.... I don't get that Mike tells new posters this line;
Usual newbie advice:
Most people do not cme to these forums to look for bandmates, but they do browse the profiles, so get some more info on yours, including music samples/videos, etc.

I get where he's coming from but it sounds discouraging...
I say let it be.
But also if someone wants to talk music in the General let it be...
I don't remember you telling NeanderPAul, Jeff, Slacker, Chayea or PaperDog to go post there music somewhere else. So it looks selective.

I post in the United States as a courtesy to the regulars here not to litter up the non-music convo. but not because you say so.
I've never played very well or played well with others.
But none of us should be enemies... I'm guessing one of the most important things in all of our lives has been music. You'd think we'd have a bit more respect for one another just for that alone.
Cuz the chit aint easy!

Dude don't be such a pushover. You have shown repeatedly how little respect you have for some one like me that will speak out loud and clear against ALL THE BULL SHOOT , You and Mark and Mike want to dish out.

Mike is the most insulting... The moment you censor someone . Even just saying STFU... That is as bad as putting a bullet in some ones head. That is extreme violence... To come from a MUSICIAN that is supposed to share... You won't ever get it.

You are such a pushover to fall into the false truths that mike hides behind.

Hey Ryan, finally got the chance to listen to your music this morning. The scream-metal is definitely not my thing (man, how does your throat stand it?!) but you have great vocal tone on all the rest of the songs, keep on singing!

You really do write some funny chit... If I agree with mike or not I don't think he'll resort to calling me a liberal commie sheeple asshat clown. And we could agree to disagree and get past it... So no G... not being pushed over by mike.

I would think it's more discouraging when they hear nothing from anyone, and any replies to their original post on these forums are insults from trolls or non-sequitor replies from people like Glen. If people put more info in their profiles, they might just hear from someone - I did!
