I'd never tell you "NOYB", mike. but I might say "NOYBIB"!

this place belongs to my bro-in law in the little burg of Fulton MO. it seats about 50.

so, me... I gets to eat real good and I take no $.

he feeds us all and the other guys give him a sweetheart deal cos we're all buds and cos' there ain't no east coast pizza around anywhere else!

he'd love to pay us good money but there's no way he can as small as he is. plus it's a Tuesday deal.....and we all have a blast playing together so we're happy to help him out.

on weekends at the few places around mid Missouri who actually are interested in having a band that play 75% instrumental jazz (and that ain't MANY places) we generally get $100 a man at bars and restaurants.

Ok, I guess I can stop packing up to move to Missouri to eat pizza for the rest of my life!
Kind of like an open mic in the town to the north of me at a coffee shop. Coffee and a few sandwiches is all they offer, and I couldn't figure out how they could pay the host/band to do this - definitely not bringing in a huge crowd, but of course the host is just doing it for the fun of it 9and a low key place where they can jam).

funny, we were trying to come up w a good tune to record that wasn't too terribly long. we decided on this, doc and i decided to each take only one go round in our solos....bill passed on his bass solo.....and still the tune clocks in at 7:30!!!!

we usually do pretty good there. there's a group of regulars that always show and they're very generous. as small as it is there, it's real easy to interact w the patrons and bring them into what we're doing.
