Guns are for keeping all governments, wether foreign or domestic, from becoming tools of the few to impose their will and violence against the many sane, sensible, people, of the world.

We had very few such accidents back in my youth. Probably for a number of reasons:

Our parents and grandparents hammered safety into our heads from a tender age. NRA had (and has) the Eddy Eagle program to promote safety as well - used to do so at churches and schools.

The country was more rural. In cities like NY you can't swing a dead cat without hitting somebody. We knew our neighbors and looked out for each other. People didn't try to rob us - virtually all shooting was sport or hunting. Many schools had PE electives that involved target shooting and let school close the day deer hunting opened.

We were were not flooded with immigrants back then - very few of this flood of people we have absorbed over the last few years are from countries where firearms are handled routinely.

We have out of control gangs (86% of the people killed in that Slaughter house called Chicago are themselves, bangers. The rest seem to be children.) Yet most anti-gun activity is pointed against folks like me - ergo we would be fools not to assume a political motive.

Sadly, there are always a few dumb asses around. I won't bore you with statistics but guns are responsible for many less deaths than things like swimming pools and buckets.

As to more people killed by kids than killed by terrorists. Lets all think very carefully about that. There is an obvious implication that this whole "War on Terror" or as Bush liked to say, " A war on evil! might just be a crock of sh*t.

They stolen much of our freedom under that 'war' rubric. Stole the reset under the guise of the 'drug war.' We've "given up" beaucoup freedom to protect ourselves from those creatures and the state media proclaims how frightened we supposedly are.

Horse manure say I. I've not met a single person in 11 years who is afraid of those dropshots. But I know plenty who scared of the govt.

Do I like everybody having guns? Usually, in a sane sitution I do. Rhodesia was like that. You checked your long guns with the door man when you entered a bar. Only the cops were unarmed. It worked.

But now days? In the US? It scares the hell out of me. Having had 'diversity' inflicted up on us it's anybody's game. Personally I'd disarm the cops, the gang bangers and the 70 govt agencies organized as paramilitaries.

Right now I'm thinking sane folks should absolutely stay armed, lay low and hope nobody kills them or arrests them for doing the work that finances the rich and the poor!
