you know, jeff.... that has got to be one of THE dumbest and overly simplified arguments ever!

me, i'd rather take my chances w someone using a wheelchair as a weapon over someone w a couple of automatic weapons, hand grenades,or a rocket launcher.

then again...it is likely i'm uninformed on a serious menace facing society today.

so ,since i'm totally unaware and ignorant on the subject.... maybe someone can educate me.....just how many deaths were there last year attributed to arms of wheelchairs?

yeah, sure sounds like one serious epidemic.

and really.... don't wheelchairs have the right to bear arms too?

Its only stupid to someone lacking the common sense to understand that folks will kill without guns. Your blaming an object when you should be blaming people! IMO your argument is STUPID!

ok, answer a simple question...who would YOU rather face when stepping out on the sidewalk after a gig...a crazy w a wheelchair arm...or a crazy w a shotgun?

you gonna answer or keep dancing the "sidestep two step"?

and you never answered my question...are there a lot of people being killed w wheelchair arms?

first off i never said your argument was "stupid". i said it was "dumb".

secondly, you've entirely missed my point.

again and again i've been saying that i don't trust PEOPLE to use good judgement.

YOU are the one who brought up death by "objects".....NOT ME.

your argument "people will always find ways to kill one another" is flawed as well.

of course they will.....but why make it easier for them to do so?

why make it easier for Wheelchair Arm Kelly to take out EVERYONE including residents, and staff in a nursing home w an automatic weapon instead of that crazy being limited to killing two people w his wheelchair arm?

well, lookie... he killed two people w/o a gun....so how could it have been any worse if had an UZI????

your defeatist argument suggests that since people will always break the rules...why bother having any?

hey, people will always speed...so why have speed limits?

people will drink too much and get behind the wheel...why have laws make it harder for them to do so?

people are always gonna run traffic lights...why have 'em?

underage drinking is always gonna occur...why try to stop it?

soooooo, why bother?....because those rules strive to make the world a safer place to live in.

No. Hammers are #1. Kitchen knives are right behind that. Guns are actually so far down the list... They come in lower than intentional poisoning.

Oh well. Let me go eat some of my wifes... Intentional poisoning

following that thinking and your analogy to war.....why not make sure that every country has nuclear weapons?

......i mean if you've no concern and see no problems w our citizenry walking around armed to the teeth... 'cos you expect everyone to use good sound judgement about when to pull the trigger (or push the button)....why not extend that to all?

MORE FIREPOWER! THAT IS WHAT GOD AND THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEE!

hey, what could possibly go wrong?????

NOTHING!

Frankly, I'd much rather face the guy with the shotgun than the fellow with the wheel chair.

How would it look for a man like me to be swatted to death with a wheelchair? 8)

Vinny, you are absolutely right. I was thinking of accidental deaths. Every thing from cars to doctors. If you are adding to the point that bad and evil people should never be allowed the control of guns. I AGREE.

As far as homicides... That is probably close to correct, but who would want to face down a musician with an "Axe" in his hands... Especially if he is a bad musician and he is holding a heavy guitar... I ain't talking 'bout one of those fenders. :)

To bad those pesky facts don't explain how many of those homicides with firearms were committed during a crime vs. in defense of ones life and property? Besides you only see the facts you want Mark so what does it matter?
