Got invited by some folks who do a local music show on their community cable station. I'll get to do 3 songs, probalby will do 2 originals and one cover.
By the way, this is what 'networking' at local events/open mics will do!

I'll get video copies I can put youtube after production/broadcast - its not a live shoot like the disastrous one I did with Instant Karma in 2012 (hard to believe it's been that long already).

Doesn't look like there is any opportunity to talk between songs or introduce a song so no opportunity for a Carlinism. New song I did a demo on this past weekend has 'suck', 'ass' and 'f*ck' in it, but being local cable, I'm not going to do that one, either.

As for doing a cover, I'm thinking of Van Morrison's Into The Mystic - a favorite with a lot of people and (I think) I belt it out pretty good. Need something like that in my 'resume'.

In my continued partner search ....
had a CL response from a guy (24 years old!) who didn't reply to my email as requested in the ad (subtract a point) and hasn't repsonded to my response yet (minus 2 more points).
Acoustic band in Concord (about 45 minutes north) is still advertising for another guitarist - they said "I was too far away".
A guy I contacted when I heard he broke up from his acoustic partner told me he was 'all set' a few weeks ago, but I noticed today he just set up a profile here and he's looking for a partner. I'll see him this week at an open mic he is hosting and will approach him one more time.
I wish people would just say 'I don't think it would work out' rather than make lame reasons. Hey, if you don't like my style, that's your issue, just say it. I've had enough people who DO like what I do, so I know its a matter of personal preference. There's any number of people that DON'T do it for me either.

Just bumping this up - it'll be a couple of weeks before the editing is done and I have copies of the songs.
The TV studio thing went well on Saturday, only had to restart one song when a phlegm phrog leaped into my throat. I think everyone on the show had one retake, so it all went to schedule. Fun time overall and a lot better than doing a 'live on tv' broadcast.

Good Job, the multiple camera angles work in your favor. That video can be used to allow for pre auditioning if a band needs someone like yourself. Quite a feather in your cap!

Thanks Jeff. there's one more song they haven't uploaded separately yet. Biggest minus (-) for me on this was that it was early in the day, no chance for a real warm-up and I was nervous so did everything at a very fast tempo.

Yeah, makes me think back to all the guys who've been 'dissing' open mikes.
:)
But open mikes got me on local TV 3 times, so far; 2 different broad cast areas, and a 45 minute guest spot on a local radio station.

I play everything too fast during the day! I need to wind down all day to be able to play at a 'normal' speed at night!

Rhythmman- yes, open mikes are all about the networking.
