Yes, lots of bands play stadiums, but not like the superbowl setup - temporary movable stage, in the middle of the field.
and i respectully say ...bullcrap.
doubt it? here check out TWO live superbowl performances.

Perhaps all you guys are too young to remember (HAH - I know you are not!) shows like American Bandstand, Hullabaloo and Where the Action Is. 95% of all those performances were lipsynched before the term was coined.
well, as i had mentioned above (using Soul Train as an example)...that was a common practice on many shows back in the day.
i still stand by the notion that there are certain artists you'd never see doing that NOW.....ANYWHERE.
no doubt the WHO and Serpell were given the choice to lip sync to pre-recorded music. and at least in these two instance their integrity and self respect led them to perform live.
and they gets big points points in my book.
as for technical concerns...as i said above...yeah, i understand the headaches of the logistics involved but keep in mind both of those for real LIVE performance were from a few years back.
does anyone believe that the technology ISN'T better NOW than even those few yrs ago????
so...it CAN be done. it's simply a matter of whether the performer is ok w phoning it in or not. that's my opinion anyway.
i'm thinking of other for real LIVE performances....Tom Petty, Stones, Springsteen, etc...and all these from a while back with cruder and more primitive equipment and technology.
BREAD IS GREAT!
