I just got the local paper yesterday and they are having a competition at the casino here in my little town, but I think it's Karaoke. It also said they are going to have open mic nights so guess what guys???? Get ready for guitargal, I'm mustering up the guts to do a solo open mic appearance. What do you think???? I don't like the Karoke thing because you have to sing in the key that the original singer sang in and that is not always in my key. I have such a low alto voice that the songs sang by male singers are not too much of a problem, but the women singers usually sing too high for my own comfort. Well, give me some feedback. a little scary!

guitargal

The KJ's (Karaoke Jockey - Yes, They Are Called That - LOL) can raise or lower the key of any song you choose by a step or two. Usually the slip of paper they give you for submitting a song, includes a place to check, if you want the key raised or lowered.

Make sure you tell them anyway, when you turn the song in.

It's kind-of like a guitarist using a capo.
