i was wondering if any of you have heard the new Radiohead album??
its called "in rainbows" and as far as i know its still free to download from there website...and its totaly legal...if you download it it askes if you want to donate a fee and it gives you the choice to pay 0.00 if your skint.
the reason there doing this is because there free from there old recording contract(hail to the theif) being the last album....
so they are giving away the album online...crazy no????
well as it may seem crazy they have made more money from the online sales..the avarage people paid was 6 pounds/10 dollars per download and that is more profit than if they sell a real cd in the shops...due to the fact that the "product" is simply downloaded there are few if any overheads to pay and you dont have to manufacture the damn cds and cases and all the other costs involved with promotion and distrbution.
but when they did releasse "in rainbows" in stores it went straight to number one...people who bought the download went on to buy the "cd" in stores just to have it and theres a bonus cd with extra tunes to boot.
so if you havent heard it go and check it out...its very different to "hail' and they really seem alot happier with the whole thing now...there are more "songs" on this album...and its more guitar than keys...i f uckin love this album...i cant recommend it enough.....
