I was listening to some of the suggestions in response to my
Lousy Music post, MAN oh MAN, the finger-nail scratching down
the blackboard, a garbage-can full of marbles kicked down the stairs !

I'm going to dress up really scruffy, un-tune my guitar and wear
it below my belt, then stand there and holler for 15 minutes, then post it on youtube

Watch for me, I'll call myself SICKINBED

Who knows, maybe I'll be able to quit my day job!

I think I figured out why so much popular music sounds so depressed and tired---dope and booze

When I was in a rock band in 1964, the liquor age was 21, and enforced,
and when a sleazy folk group came to campus and was found with a bit
of pot, there was hell to pay.

The music was better then and so were we !!

Dang and I thought I am old and Grouchy! Hey West, I don't know about you but my parents use to bitch about how aweful Buddy Holly, Elvis and the Beatles were. Perhaps we are our parents!

Do you mean the lack of it now?
Late 60s and early 70s rock was the best, so were the times, and so was the partying!

hey slacker, you hip to Johnny A? he's a current guy who plays instrumental gtr music. very lyrical, great tones, and he does a lot of tasteful Bigsby stuff.

he can burn...but he can also sit back and play pretty melodies w/o worrying about trying to impress.

if you ain't hip you should check him out...i bet you'd dig him.

Guitar Mike

Yep. Nobody would claim Jeff Airplane or Country Joe were unable to play well due to drugs & booze. Cream? hmmmm Johnny Winter, Stones... Nah - Mr. West needs to look somewhere else for his mediocrity trigger...
