so why'd he come round starting the bs spamming sh*t and spoiling for a fight.....

Crip2nite wrote:and JW... the reason I started spamming this cuntfuk was because of a different thread.... he don't know me beddy well... Can't stand those whiney ass babies!

yeah, right....here's what got you all buttsore and your panties all cinched up;

planetguy wrote:"looks cooler"? i know you're saying that tongue in cheek, but i gotta say that's personal pref and all in the eye of the beholder.

to me there's nothing goofier than seeing behemoth amps and bigger stacks/multi cabs (esp when they might not be sounding all that happening) in smaller venues or when they're being reinforced by the PA.

this is esp so with bass rigs for me. when i was 18 i might have thought SVT's w 8x12 cabs looked cool (for the record ...i do still think they SOUND cool) but there are other more practical ways to get similar tones.

s'all good...different tones for different holmes. Wink

so not knowing you were so thin skinned about meaningless sh*t like that....let me rephrase my previous reply that hurt your feelings. why you give a sh*t what i think eludes me...but since it's obvious you do....

don't you own a Fender Hot Rod Deville Mark? it is a 60 watt version of mine which is a Hot Rod Deluxe..do you find the DeVille has problems with the master volume from setting 1 to 2 is too much of an increase in volume? what did you do to fix that?

roger that, dane.

yeah. i own one. and that master volume has one delicate trigger finger. i just deal w it. i thought about changing out the pot when i first got the amp but i'm a lazy sumbitch w too many other projects on hold already.

i find the same problem w the reverb pot (wrong rating) on my '65 Deluxe reissue. when you get the 'verb cranked above 1 - 1.5 it's surf's up!

funny you mention my deville..it's been sitting neglected in my closet for ever. i can't remember the last gig i used it on. i was thinking maybe i should sell it.

...then this weekend on the gig my Deluxe starts buzzing real bad. got it home and swapped out all the tubes.....still messed up. probably a bad cap i'm guessing.

so, now i've got 4 Planet gigs (w me on gtr, not bass) coming up between friday and wednesday.....i am not looking forward to hauling this damn Deville around. at least it DOES sound real good, though.

it's the 2x12 version and it is one loud sumbitch!

I've heard of the changing out the 12AX7 in the preamp section to a 12AY7 but believe that mods another problem.. it's hard to believe the HotRod Deluxe is supposedly the best selling tube amp in the world (numbers wise) I guess the Version III's have been re-engineered, I picked mine up in 1996 when I was actually gigging making money playing rather than educating.. LOL

dane....i'm not sure (maybe some of the wiser and more exp tube gurus around here can weigh in) but i believe that tube swap gets you sooner breakup at lower volume.

i am pretty certain it won't get you a master volume that's more user friendly though.

Typical liberal... It got toooo hot Mark and you changed the discussion on a thread you started.

Man you could be the backup white house spokesman for Jay Carney.

You are just as good as him at bobbing and weaving!!!

dane thanks for inserting a musical question into this goofy assed thread.

i was happy to answer but in the future... pls try to color within the lines.

that way it's less confusing to those who move their lips while reading.

That's freakin AWESOME! Thank you for making me such a big part of your life! :P

damn, it's like a game of wack-a-mole around here. willie leaves and another attention whore pops up to take his place.

just shows...parents really do need to show their children more attention.

They can't pay attention to their children Mark. They are to busy trying to pay all the taxes you have advocated.

Europe has many countries that subscribe to your liberal thinking...

WHY DON'T YOU GET THE FUUCCK OUT OF MY COUNTRY. Your last few posts show you are willing to go to war. I want peace in my country!

You don't believe in Gods morals, you don't believe in allowing success, you don't believe in caring and really giving a damn about any one else.

You believe you need a big government to keep things EQUAL. All I see is that your thinking has lost all belief that FREE MEN will do GOOD WILL.

Just get out LEAVE. Greece is calling.

How bout a joke guys

One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it’s his daughter’s birthday.
He pulls over to a Toy Shop and asks the sales person, “How much for one of those Barbie’s in the display window?”

The salesperson answers, “Which one do you mean, Sir?

We have: Work Out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $19.95, Beach Barbie for $19.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, Ballerina Barbie for $19.95, Astronaut Barbie for $19.95, Skater Barbie for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.95?.

The amazed father asks: “It’s what?! Why is the Divorced Barbie $265.95 and the others only $19.95?”

The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers: “Sir…, Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken’s Car, Ken’s House, Ken’s Boat, Ken’s Furniture, Ken’s Computer, one of Ken’s Friends, and a key chain made with Ken’s balls.

A 12AY7 should give you less gain, but more clean headroom than a 12AX7. Even more so with a 12AU7.
