Sold all my stuff due to nasty motorcycle accident thinking I was never gonna be able to play again.... 2 years later and months of operations and therapy.... playing better than I've ever played before... So my 2 latest acquisitions that I've been religiously playing on stage for the past 6 months: An American Fender Strat Deluxe HSS and a beautiful Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top... Gotta start re-building my collection again!

And the biggest thing that has changed for me is that I walked into a music store last weekend and purchased the sweetest damn guitar I've ever owned: A white Gibson Firebird!

I was just getting some picks and strings but the bloody thing shouted at me - 'Get me off the wall and play me!' And all this while some fellow from Ibanez was trying to sell me a fairly nice but not particularly exciting new release of theirs.

I tried to be sensible (just bought a house) and went home without it. Couldn't sleep, couldn't eat.

Next day I left church and my car seemed to steer it self to the music store! They weren't even open yet but made an exception for me - perhaps because I was groveling in the gravel outside the store..

The pickups are unbelievable. The neck is the sweet space between LP and Strat Maple. What I really like is the way the tone quality and volume remain very balanced where ever you are on the neck. Did I mention it looks like a million bucks?

And of course - I became 10% cooler just by owning the daggone thing! In fact - just knowing someone who owns a white Firebird will get you 5%!

Rejoice with me brothers - my life just got a lot better!

damn, mike....nice score. congrats on scoring a supercool gtr. i've always wanted a gtr w mini HB's and have thought about dropping one into one of my teles. your's have the mini's, right?

i used to own a '66 non reverse (sunburst) Thunderbird and like a total dumbass sold it. i'd give both nuts to have it back. bought it for $250 back in the day and at the time felt pretty good about doubling my money and selling it for $500. sheeeet, what those basses go for now???? not that i'd even consider selling it.

I've got a 72 Tele as well, standard set up.

and that's the OTHER pickup i've always wanted to drop in the neck position of one of my teles....an old FENDER H/B. i've heard the newer ones FENDER puts in their reissues ain't got the goods.

tell me about the Ibanez archtop, the guild (is that a cutaway i see peaking out?), and what are those lap steels ya got?
