I've been wanting to do this kind of thing for a year or 2 myself.
Too bad about the distance between us.
A duo is cool. Finding the right combination of chemisty & ability for just one other musician might take a while.
In some cases, a trio might be easier, depending on the songs.

I think that doing originals in this format can be pretty important.
With your eclectic taste in music, you can probably write quite a few songs 'between-styles."

I spent a lot of time learning other peoples music, before I realized that I should be spending the time learning my OWN music.
.
Once you start writing stuff that's better than your covers, you'll see what you've been missing . . .
Consider it, anyway . . . :)

Just read your profile - we're so similar, it's scary. :)
Except, I only do a few covers, now.
I play Rhythm guitar and bass, both.
I'll bet if we were closer, that we'd eventually be making some great music together. :)
But - isn't that the way, huh? We musicians always seem to be across the country from each other.
