Last night I settled on my Mesa Triple half stack as my amp of choice as always, and really went to ground zero on the settings and started over with it.
Ive got channel one in the clean mode, and my goal was to get that clean sound you get out of a Roland Jazz Chorus amp. To my ears that amp is the benchmark for clean sounds.
Channel two I set for raw, normally I have it in vintage, but I set it for raw, and Im aiming at that Fender Twin Tone with just a touch of breakup, I think I got it pretty close.
Channel 3 I set for vintage, where as normally I have it in the modern setting. But I put it in vintage mode and my goal with it is a JCM 800 sound.
I will probably go back in this evening with my ears clear and go thru them and tweak some more.
Its great to do this with an amp sometimes, cause I tend to forget how versatile this amp is.
Then my next step will be to go thru all my effects aand figure out what will work. Of course we have to get a basic song list down.
This group will have an element of classic rock, some funk dance disco, some soul R&B, and I want some slow songs. The list will probably start off kinda standard, but I know in a new group we have to build an audience, I have contacted some of my former fans from AYM and asked them advice on song choice, hopefully if I get this going I can retain some of those people, cause in the end this is business.
Kinda cool starting with a fresh page thou, I havent tryed that in a while.
