Funny.

We added a new digital channel to our over the air TV services. It is designated as 4.3 on the band. This is all oldies, or the "ME" channel. Memorable Entertainment. Stuff like Star Trek, Perry Mason, Beaver, Gunsmoke, rifleman and the liked.

The other day I saw this commercial. It is for a mechanical parakeet. The blond in the commercial is cooing over it and holding it like she thinks it is a real bird. It was so amazingly stupid that I called my daughter and told her about it. She thought I was kidding. Then a few days later she saw it and called me. She couldn't believe it either.

So that was the stupidest commercial I can ever recall. I thought nothing could possibly top that until the other day when I was watching old Batman episodes. On the commercial break I saw this!

All the while I was watching it i neither believed my ears or my eyes. It was almost an out of body experience. I just stared at the TV in disbelief.

So OK. Now what's next? Will they top that one?

I can just see the delivery guy crawling to the door with it because he is laughing so hard that he can no longer walk. Maybe he will yell. "Hey! Look what this idiot ordered"

Maybe it will ship in a brown unlabeled cardboard container.

But the funniest part is the music in the background of the Perfect Pet Polly commercial. It's the William Tell Overtue, in other words the theme song from the original Lone Ranger series! What the heck that music has to do with a mechanical Pet Polly, the good Lord only knows!
