Talent Agents? By definition they are like used car salesman, a little slimy. Here in Lake Co. Il. Watch out for Tom the Talent Agent. He will use you then come up with some way to lose you with some bogus story. If he books you into one of his places and you stand up to him he will cancel your gig saying you were "unprofessional". Learn this lesson and stay a long way away from this guy!

What's a 'Talent Agent' anyway? A Booking Agent is one that gets you gigs. A good agent will get you paying gigs because that's how he makes his money, but you lay out the initial terms (area, types of venues, equipment requirements, etc).
Before you sign any contract, get an attorney to read it and advise.

The gent he describes reminds me of the jackhat that was advertising for like 5 women for his "show".
