Mike yes I would be against, yet another Christian inquisition and that is exactly what you are suggesting. You have still yet to dismiss how treating crime, simply like crime, is ineffective or unfair.
Stating that somehow we should base the severity of it based on religion is absurd. That’s the same argument the gun control nuts use, that somehow dying via gun is different then via knife. But since your sect would be the self appointed judge and jury, why not? It’s not as if every member of the Klu Klux Klan isn’t a self proclaimed Christian. How should we dispose of them there Muslims? I was thinking that crucifixion would be the most appropriate method. I also remember something about Christians and eight crusades.
I do agree that a Christian sacrificing their life in the name of their God today is laughable. First they would really, really, really, have to believe. all that nonsense, which requires absolutely no logic and complete faith. Christianity is a club, some guild, something you do on Sundays because everyone else said you should. If you know the Bible better than anyone else, hooray for you. Certainly whether or not you did your homework, is foremost on the concerns of any great and powerful being.
The selfish pursuit of a better seating arrangement in heaven, is about the most ridiculous reason to waste a life that I could possibly think of. To say that same self serving mentality gives anyone a leg up on morality, is insane. Your very own arrogance betrays that fact. Mike, who are you, or anyone else, to declare which religions are valid or not? Was that Protestant, or Catholic?
If you can toss out the constitution just because it doesn’t fill your current needs, you don’t deserve the protection it provides. When they say that nativity scenes should be outlawed and the ten commandments don’t belong in a courthouse, when the steeples have to come down, blame yourself. I’m starting to think maybe the folks who insists on that could be right.
In fact maybe we should just run with that solution and declare all religion as illegal? I can think of no other bigger cause for war on the planet. Maybe after some grownups step in and stop the feud of the great and powerful make believe people, there might actually be a chance for peace. That stuff that millions of supposed Christians believe in.
Whoever declared that being fair and just should somehow be easy? You all think we somehow deserve some easy answer, just make a law and let Uncle Sam do the lynching. In an open society we are always at risks, but those risks are also opportunities. Hitler fell behind in creating the atom bomb, mostly because any Jewish scientist with half a brain had already left, including Einstein. Who is to say that Asad doesn’t cure cancer, or Ahmad our economy?
Are you really willing to be among the countries that promote violence upon one another, simply because of faith? Certainly that’s what Thomas Jefferson, Franklin and Washington had in mind. It’s just crazy, really nuts.
