Hey, I am glad to hear it. Keep the momentum going.
Do you know what NH3 is, and what the 2 elements are? And, what is a compound? What's the difference between Apha, Beta, and Gamma radiation? What are the Noble elements, and why are they called the Nobel elements? Do you understand 'Valence,' yet?
I believe these chemistry questions are all High School level chemistry . . .
GA, we may not talk about much more than Music, philosophy, history, politics and morality and other Liberal Arts, here. But but almost all of us have paid our dues in things other than music, one way or another . . .
When you're ready for the 'Anatomy' part of "Guitar Anatomy," we can discuss the difference between dorsal and ventral, and the difference between 'in vivo' and 'in vitro,' and other interesting things like the effects of dopamine, serotonin, and norepenephrin on the consciousness and mood . . . what the Amygdalia controls, what the Hippocampus does, etc, etc . . .
In the meantime, learn the answers to the chem. questions, ok? It'll help immensely with your understanding of blood chemistry, and basic medical topics like the 'Sodium Pump' and ion exchange, and . . . well, learn the basics, first, eh?
I like the questions, lol. Fascinating, let's see if I can answer them. Without a periodic table in front of me.
Let's see, NH3... Well, if my memory serves me right it probably is Neon and Hydrogen, which are gases. Neon is a Noble gas, which means it has a stable amount of valence electrons in its final layer ("Stable octet arrangement"). For some reason I am blanking out on the naming process, but I know that the 3 (If you mean it in a small number, which you should since you placed it after the letter) represents the number of atoms present in one molecule of the gas. So it might be considered mononeon trihydroxide, or something like that, my memory is a bit dense right there. The naming portion I have gone over before, but since I have not studied that in a while, you can see the result.
A compound is the mixture or two of more elements to my knowledge.
Alpha, Beta, Gamma rays are different types of radiation with different wave lengths. If you view a spectrum you see the exact lengths of the rays. The two I have yet to get to, and I notice it is farther ahead in all of my chemistory books, is Alpha and Beta (So if I am wrong do not stab me, lol). But Gamma I remember studying, microwaves, x-rays, etc... There is so much.
Now if you are saying "Dorsal," chances are you are referring to the vertebrae. A.K.A. the "Dorsum." If remember right.
But let me explain one thing, that I think everyone is missing, lol. I am a medical transcriptionist, I type up medical reports all of the time. Thus my spelling is very strong and my knowledge of the bones of the body is fairly decent, I study all of the time when I am typing these reports out.
I appreciate the support for me to drive myself farther in my studying, but I guarantee, I am studying a lot. I have studied chemistry for probably 3 hours today (Technically yesterday), or more. I then studied some physics. My mind is everywhere.
But if you think I do not know basic high-school science or not enough to pass this thing, you would be surprised, lol. I know a lot more than I come off to. Remember, I was not a slacking off home-school student all of the time, I took courses online. Here are my scores to give an example:
English I - 91
English 2 - 98
English 3 - 96.8
Spanish I and II - 93 (That was funny, same score twice)
Economics - 100.57%
Earth Space Science - 93
Plus I was one of the writers in the newspaper of the school for some time.
My problem during that time was pacing issues, it is very hard for me to discipline myself at home, and my mother can only do so much, I can be fairly pigheaded (A habit I am breaking). But I passed my classes, I never went to English 4, at the time my pacing threw my mind too far off course. I screwed up so bad I ended up having to work overtime on those courses above - this is common with home-school students, we tend not to focus at the right timings of normal students.
As you can see I do not mind telling the truth about my education. I could lie about it and tell you something totally different is going on, you would never know. I could even say I have the GED... I never lie, I only tell the truth.
So as much of my mind I ended up devoting towards music for a while, I never quite stopped learning other subjects. Let's have some fun, what was the strongest winds ever clocked on Jupiter? And where on the planet? What is the exact distance of the Earth from the Sun? And what unit is used to refer to this? How fast is the speed of light? Now those are basic high-school questions, I can go beyond most of that. When I wrote for the school newspaper those were my subjects, space, technology, science, ESP, etc...
No one has to answer those questions, I am just trying to say, look, I am not dumby, lol. I am studying and trying harder as a result of being woken up, which I am grateful for, I can use the encouragement sometimes. My mother is very encouraging (Constantly), but I guess sometimes it kicks in better with strangers.
You are welcome to ask more questions, how do you think I knew exactly what Franny was talking about with his back problems though? Most 19 year olds you will find cannot do Medical Transcription (Nor do they know how the heart functions in and out, about CHF, or even what CHF is). My mind is strong and my drive is even stronger if I want it to be, so do not worry. I will come back here one day and you will see I know those questions you asked and far beyond.
P.S. Sorry if I am coming off like a brat, I think I am having trouble explaining this in a more simple way. I mean no offense and I am not trying to come off as belligerent. I appreciate the help, tremendously.
Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.
