Thanks George, we have spent a fortune on this animal. I just hope it makes auction! Dozier is barely a year old and 1200lbs. I was in Ag. in high school and wanted to raise a calf but we were to poor! I am enjoying living out that experience vicariously thru our son! :) He is an American Beefmaster. We have fed that poor thing til he's about to explode. They live a short but Oh So Sweet life. Pampered and fed as much of the most expensive showfeed as he wants. If he makes auction he'll get a Shock to the head and then he'll be individually wrapped steaks ready for the pit UM UM!

I bet you'll do well as long as he stays fit.
Good looking animal like that a lot of times will draw private bids.

Well, Dozer didn't place so he didn't make auction! Now to plan B. they only have Grand Champion and Reserve Grand champion. I know this sounds like I'm a sore loser but I have heard from more than one person that this whole thing is biased. As soon as those 8 steer were led into the ring that judge couldn't take his eye's off the Brahman that he picked for grand Champion It was obvious to me that he preferred the more traditional animals! Anyway it's not so much about winning it is the experience these kids get from raising and competing with the animals.

Yes Grant I was cleaning up lots of Jimmy's last night! In fact he is still on the bottom of my boots! Got to go out and scrape it off in a little while! Lol
