Last night I wrote and recorded a new demo on my DAW called "Lock & Load".

Against all business wisdom, I just posted it to my profile for BM critics. It's not a finished product by any stretch of the imagination but I know Glenny and Slacker will love the chorus.

The song is actually about my recent trip to Chicago and working with the Polish guy I've mentioned here. It's about taking our best shot to break him in America, but the chorus is all people really listen to in a song, so it's destined to become the anthem of gun owners everywhere.

My liberal producer is just going to love it....NOT!

No I'm not. :)
Ted you are one of the most talented songwriters I have met. You have the rare ability to understand that it is OK to stretch a song.

Were you in one of my bands about........ 40 million years ago?

Ted you are a very unique person and I am grateful that you are willing to share some of your talents. I liked your quickie recording, thought it was great.

Thanks Yod... Still ain't gonna go out and buy a 44 tmarrow.

There should be no prob with that song...Tell your producer its a metaphor for "gitr done" ... Which is what I take from it ... Great song Ted...! You definitely know what your doing...

Gracias amigos!

I'm teasing Wendy (producer) with this one. She will love the song because it's about a lot of people she knows, yet she will roll her eyes at the gun-toting reference with a smile that says, "y'all are crazy"

and of course she's right...

I didn't find it 'gun crazy' at all, like mentioned, "lock and load" can be taken very metaphorically.

Interesting..

Sounds like Paul Simon type materials..out of my personal comfort zone but it's good enough that I can listen to the the whole tune and not have to rush to hit the volume or the power button.

Very nice...

Ted I love your voice, great tune, yeah you should do something with this.

Thanks for posting

When I listen to things on here, I always kinda think what would I do on the tunes, but I cant think of anything on this one, love the slide guitar tone, really fits the mood.

Hey man, I'll see you in July when I tour through there with the Polish pianist, Pawel Zarecki. It's going to be off the chains!!?!!

I'm having trouble remembering where our Missiouri boys live? Dane and Leonard, I'm in Springfield tonight. Hope I'm not missing you guys playing somewhere.

Headed to Oklahoma tomorrow and Arkansas the next day, but Wed/Thurs I need to find a good body shop somewhere before heading to St Louis for Fri/Sat. The wind blew my door almost off the hinges when I opened it in Texas Thursday. It's messed up and I don't want to get out of the driver's side until I fix this.

But I'm going to be in Lansing Michigan next Monday, then Detroit area on Wednesday. We booked that just so I could go see what kind of danger Jimmy's up to on Tuesday or Wednesday???

Maybe we could go out target practising? ;-)

Coming from you that is a high compliment, bro. Thanks, but I'm only sketching the ideas. I'll hire real pickers to play them right if I end up going to a studio with a particular song.

Ted,

Thanks for sending that to me!

I really liked it. Listening to it again right now. Real nice vocals. Your vocal style reminds me of Lyle Lovett :) :)
