I learn songs until callouses form on my fingers. It's a fanatical thing I do, almost to the point of driving me crazy. Maybe I expect too much from people. We're all fallible. Part of my problem is expecting too much and I get frustrated to the point of giving up. It's a character flaw I have to learn to change.

You know, I'm the same way. I wind up wearing a lot of bandaids on my finger tips when I latch on to a new song or some lick I'm trying to teach myself.

As for people, all I can suggest is to master the art of 'letting" things unfold. I heard on good authority that 2-3 hours a day of practice is as sufficent as 8 hours...

In my case, I cant do more than an hour..then I gottta break from it... But 30 minutes later I'm back at ... I do this quite often, all day between my other tasks and duties

Nothing wrong with having high expectations. You will just find that few people are as passionate or devoted to the project as you are. THAT you have to understand, live with, and overcome.

The alternative is to hire people.. lay out the expectations, fire everyone who falls short, and eventually you end up with a professional band. Only problem is that option is kinda expensive
