Another of my many gigs was bouncer. I rarely had to fight or even use any violence - I'm not mean by nature.

But when I'd see someone acting a bully I was on them like white on rice. Very satisfying. Even fired a couple of my backup guys when I saw them acting like bullies. Don't know why that annoys me so much but it truly does.

Bingo... I think you get it... I'm not a 'mean' person either... On the contrary, I have dozens upon dozens of friends who are very comfortable around me... Its got something to do with 'being kind'. People in my home are treated like kings and queens, I am always respectful of others in their homes... In public places, I yield right of way to others... But something about a person who goes around with a chip on their shoulder and who thinks its okay to intimidate or humiliate others... (for no reason other than to be ass-holes... )
I have issues with that...and i wont think twice to pull out their pedastals from under them...
SO many people need their asses kicked... so little time...lol

Dodgeball seems to have applied the same rules anyway.

Dodge ball was the opportunity for us to show a few bullies that not every victim takes it lying down... I remember smacking a bully square in the face with the ball, after I caught it and returned fire on him... It happened very fast and he didn't see it coming. He never f**k with me again... I also noticed that he received more attacks by others, once folks figured out what a wussy he really was.

The thing about bullies, Mike is that they operate solely on the illusion of fearfulness. They beat their chests like little Peter-Pans...and this is precisely what Leadership in America has evolved into The bullies have you and I scared....
Soon I shall have some musical material to express my thoughts on all this...

That was GREAT, DOG!!!!!!!

wow.. just feel the roid rage in here..

Glad all you guys were so successful in ridding the world of it's bully population....

Bottom line is bullies usually pick on kids younger, and half their size/strength. In most cases, the one kid who chooses to stand up to the bully usually gets his ass kicked all over the playground, much like that kid in philly who died. Nobody knows what provoked the bullies, but maybe he was dumb enough to stand up to them earlier in the hallway?

Bottom line here is that most kids who are severely bullied only risk further bullying and physical abuse. They learn to avoid the bullies more than anything else. By doing so, it affects their everyday life, and if you think they don't carry that baggage into adulthood, then you are sadly mistaken.

have some goddam compassion. I was bullied in grades 7-8, always by older kids, and much bigger kids. They traveled in pairs and packs.. The one time I did stand up to one when he was alone, he needed no help kicking the sh*t out of me..

Fortunately I beefed up in the 9th grade and was for the most part able to take care of myself, but a few other "scrawny" kids didn't fare so well. Some learned to avoid, others weren't so lucky. Do you think it got any easier for them after high school? Nope.

Kramer

Have some compassion?? What about you? Avoiding bullies is the way to perpetuate the scenario - they'll never leave you alone. A sad tale you tell.

Many of us have stood up to them when we were kids and desperately afraid and alone. You have no friends when you stand up to a bully. Even if you pull it off and 'win,' you've just made the rest of your gang look like bitches. If you get stomped, they'll feel like bitches.

Despite any of that - you have to fight, every time. Taking sh*t can be habit former.

Who knows what you'll do the first time eh? Sad that these things happen but I personally feel this 'anti-bully' bullshit the media is peddling is meant to be a final knife in the back of American masculinity. Being a kinder, caring person, will not protect you from bullies. Like using scissors to protect yourself from mass murderers.

Getting beat up is better than being bullied.

Maybe if you get a big enough beat down, you'll realize you need to work on a few things or learn to toughen up a little.

"It's a BIG DOG world out there and you don't want to be wearing the milk bone underwear, they can smell your fear a mile away".

Most bullies are not fond of the idea that you might fight back.
When they find out that you might cripple them, they move on to weaker specimens.

They trick is not to become what you despise the most.

If you kick a bully in the nuts, and no one is around, will he make a hi-pitched sound?

you guys seriously expect a 10 year old scrawny kid to try and fight a 13 year old bully, knowing he is going to get his ass kicked all over the playground? No, most 10 year old kids are going to be absolutely terrified and just avoid the playground.. it's human nature to avoid danger, not run up and double-dog dare it... Only a bully would think otherwise!

You guys are off your rockers. Look at these bullied kids.. they have been beaten up several times. Some have tried to fight back, only making it worse for themselves by getting harsher beatings.

Look at what happened to that kid in philly.. DEAD. I'm sure he might have wished that he AVOIDED the playground that day.
