Florida is kind of big, you may want to be more specific! Not there appears to be many Floridians here anyway.

I know some musicians in Florida.
Most of the contacts I've made there have been via Facebook.
( actually the initial contacts that these developed from were made here )
Once you get down there, put some leather on the sidewalks and start hitting up musicians via Facebook and BandMix
Yes, they have many drawbacks, but as a free services they have some benefit as another tool in the belt.
With Bandmix I would recommend paying for a year of Premier Membership.
Then use the "search function" three to four times a week messaging and newly active members in the geographic region you can travel effectively.
The "search function" has filters that can refine your search by activity date and a range based on postal codes.
Expect a send return ratio of approx 20:1 and be patient.

No . . . they won't. Most won't anyway.
You will have to be proactive.
I'm speaking from years of experience with this site.
You, of course, have the right to do as you see fit.
Best wishes.
The worst gigs I ever played, the worst years I ever endured, where in Florida.
I hope it works better for you pal.
