I'm interested in finding like-minded musicians (I'm in the Instrumental Metal genre... matching genres not a necessity though) who have a Soundcloud.
I feel like Soundcloud is kind of the Twitter of music... a bit odd at first, but it will be huge in the years to come.
Anyways... post a link to your page and tell me a little about yourself.

I go by the name of Litost. Released an EP on January 10th that peaked at #9 on Amazon's Alternative Metal list. I am set to release my first full-length in May/June of 2013.

Now let's talk Soundcloud!

It's a place to host your music. No one goes to it to search for music other than other musicians.

True... which is why I put that first sentence in there.
Most of the support "local" musicians get is from other local musicians. I'm aware ;)

heavy metal is a hard sell with a vocalist? instrumental heavy metal would be a hard row to hoe.. I always think the commercial aspect of music first..does it have a hook?

What makes you think that? What business model do they have that is suddenly going to make this a big thing? Why is it any better than other sites, reverbnation, for example? Convince us why we should all be flocking there to update our current SC accounts?
I use it to throw tunes up quick for others to hear, much like I'll throw one on the BM player for folks here to listen to.

I think it will be big because of the simplicity of it. No bullshit, just sounds, listens, likes and comments.
As far as it being very tough for metal bands with vocals, let alone without vocals... I agree somewhat. However, I have heard MANY metal songs that I would absolutely love as instrumentals that have been destroyed by being matched up with sh*t vocals.
There are several bands that I think would still be huge if they didn't get vocals at all... Opeth, for example. Their music is a journey.
