Brace yourself.

Dear Dane,

If congressional Republicans don't act by tomorrow, we're going to be hit by a series of devastating, automatic budget cuts called the sequester.

It's a sledgehammer to the budget, our economy, and millions of Americans across the country -- and the most frustrating part? It doesn't have to happen.

The majority of Americans support President Obama's balanced approach to deficit reduction -- add your name if you do, too.

So far, congressional Republicans are refusing to compromise -- all because they don't want to close tax loopholes for millionaires, billionaires, vacation homes, and corporate jets. Seriously.

This has very real consequences.

On the chopping block are 10,000 teaching jobs, more than 70,000 kids' spots in Head Start, $35 million for local fire departments, $43 million to make sure seniors don't go hungry, and access to nutrition assistance for 600,000 women and their families. That's just a few of the things we'll lose.

President Obama has put forth a balanced deficit reduction plan with smart spending cuts that protect the critical investments needed to strengthen middle-class families and our economy.

We need to send a strong signal about where Americans stand on this issue.

Add your name today:

Thanks,

P.S. -- If Congress fails to act, this fight doesn't end tomorrow. We'll need to put even more pressure on Republicans to stop these budget cuts and pass a balanced plan. Join this fight now.

during a time when the republican house was holding the country hostage over the fiscal cliff? Or was it the time when they decided to gie a bunch of billionaires more money and told the poor to go screw themselves?

Not that democrats are innocent in any of this...

Both parties will continue to screw us so long as we keep believing that we have to choose a side between D's and R's. They are the same animal and combined with corporate and billionaire funding, they are destroying this country for their own personal gains.

Things will keep changing for the worse until this country of lazy complainers stands up and fights for something better.

People are starting to feel the pressure that is coming down from all angles.
IT IS GOING TO GET MUCH WORSE!
You better have your big boy pants on, because defiance and cockiness will not get you far.

Bullies... Surrounding all of us.

This is no longer a free country... Way too many people have surrendered their rights to FREEDOM in exchange for perceived government protection. Free speech is one of the first things that must be controlled. Guns are the second. The right to live in FREEDOM outlined by our first politicians was very carefully thought out.

What everyone is feeling is the storm that is blowing through. You know it is coming, you can feel it in your bones, you can watch the weather reports, if you are smart, you are some what prepared.

Then you pray it won't be that bad.

I hope you have your big boy pants on! :)

Sometimes the facts are ignored by people who wont or cant believe or
admit they are wrong. The number one problem in this country will make the number two problem even more important. Guns for hunting, guns for defence.
No matter the shape or rounds they hold, in the hands of respect they trump evil which will always be watching.

To hear President Obama talk about the so-called budget cuts known as sequestration, his two-year-old idea of those required slashes in federal spending didn't turn out to be such a good idea after all.

As usual with President Obama, however, the failure of his own plan is not his fault.

The president, his Cabinet secretaries and his press secretary are describing a veritable fiscal Armageddon for the country if the cuts he proposed in 2011 start taking effect on Friday, as legislatively required. And conveniently forgetting that in late 2011 Obama vowed to veto any attempts to disarm the sequester cuts he now raises alarms over.

By the way,

I believe teachers are paid by the state through state taxes. So just how in the hell does the federal government effect teachers one way or another?

Note that they didn't make any cuts to the Congressional Air Force, or limousine services, or any of the other non essential "perks" that the little princes and kings who rule over us with an iron fist enjoy.

You do know that Congress has it's own air force don't you? This is all bullshit smoke and mirrors by the wanna be dictator light. The government wastes 4 times the amount every year but they will not police themselves and stop blatant fraud and waste in government.

Dictator light came on strong as if the world would end until a reporter with some balls exposed how fraudulent this whole scare campaign truly is. Then all of a sudden it won't be so bad after all.

Anyone who believes the crap that comes from that perpetually lying deceptive Marxist is an idiot.

Is this what it comes down too? Is this what America has come too?

Let me put my neck on the line... few lines from some one that cares very deeply about every free person in America.

We The People

We have all heard the term civil disobedience. It is a term used to describe any action that goes against the authority of the the powers granted to maintain a stable community. This is to mean a government granted the authority to prevent anarchy and chaos. This is essential to provide a stable environment where a community can prosper in relative safety.

However I would be inclined to point out a similar phrase, that must be understood as well. Governmental disobedience. This is the United States of America. This is a nation of free men and women that have chosen to allow a government under THEIR AUTHORITY... to surrender some of their choices for the greater good of the community. In other words some of us would rather drive on the left side of the road but instead we all agree to drive on the right. It helps to avoid chaos.

However at what point are we surrendering our authority to a government that is suddenly empowered by it's own will. At what point does a government overstep that fine line, and by the very belief that the power imbued is actually from the governments very own existence.

At that point we have opened the doors to something far worse than anarchy. We have opened the doors to tyranny and GOVERNMENTAL DISOBEDIENCE!

When our government at all levels, national, state , local, and even towns, start to make decisions without the true consent of the people... Usually the reasoning starts with... I was elected by the people because they trust my judgment in all the matters that I was elected for. That includes any reasoning that could influence my decisions... even if the outcome is different than the perceived values that got me elected in the first place.

The problem is that we have empowered a person. A person that is also another human being the same as every one that elected him. Prone to human frailties, anger, prejudice, pet projects, and loves. Prone to mistakes and prone to pride, greed and a long list of human qualities.

Once we have empowered this elected official it is then we must be very mindful of the very reason we have allowed a government to moderate our freedoms. A government is meant to arbitrate our petty differences for the good of the whole community. A government is meant to provide stable rules and laws. I use the word stable because every law throughout history usually has some stable basis or precedent. If laws where just changed overnight and on a continual basis, it would only lead to the very anarchy we are trying to avoid to begin with. All this law making must not be approached with just a casual attitude of the man empowered by the fact of his election. It must be approached with the gravity and tremendous responsibility allowed, If we are to maintain a free society.

Once this relationship between government and a free people is corrupted in any way or manner, the out cry should be overwhelming. At that point we have reached, the point of governmental disobedience. That is the point where the government is more important than the people and the power is no longer coming from the true authority. THE PEOPLE. WE THE PEOPLE.
Glen Johnston.
