another thing you probably thought nobody would ever figure out, is when you had one of your tunes posted on soundcloud a few months back, the avatar you were using at Soundcloud was the same as Scottie's (what he uses here).. the galaxy avatar, ..so my guess is you are Scottie, but just his evil "twin".. either that or you don't mind ripping off other people's avatars?..if you would just disappear for a few weeks again it would be fine with me..at least I add something of value with my music.. you don't even have music here, and all you do is rub people the wrong way..

"The Proof Is In The Pudding"

Plenty of people will grind you for whatever reason they come up with; your equipment, your band, your gf, your car and anything that they think in their little deluded heads makes a difference.

Fact is if you can play it, it's generally 90% you and maybe 10% other reasoning.

Don't let anyone fluster you, just like the only person that can play like you is YOU. Excuses are like assholes. Don't be an asshole if you can help it.

(No one is me and I am no one but myself)

Dane don't lose your mind dealing with people just trying to get your goat.

JCP, I think he's trying to get you to put up some more music to show your proposed validity or lack thereof.

Scott, it is true, JCP put up a link once here on bandmix directing us to take a listen, and when I went there, your familiar looking galaxy avatar was the background on the viewing screen, could have been just coincidence ,? and I will take your word on it that you are not JCP and that it was just a coincidence, I believe there are BM members that have a good enough memory that went there too and seen the same thing I did and they could vouch for me, that I am not making this up.. it is small potatoes anyhow, but I have been on message boards where insane people using them have a cache full of characters/aliases and like to play games playing the villain with one of their aliases and then coming back with their "good guy" alias sometimes toungue lashing "themselves" in an insane and almost comical manner and it's really pretty easy to spot with some reasoning skills

the proof is in the pudding as in I could play 95% of the players tunes with a simple chord chart put in front of me, shredding, two hand tap, bent note blues, but would bet only 5 to 10% of players could do what I've put up .. they don't have the right hand technique down (save one that's Slacker) and they can't play extended chords but Planetguy could do it.. that is why I so badly want to get together once at some outdoor event with all BandMix members attending to cut heads once, do a trick and see who can cop it and who can't? do a jazz chord progression see who can follow and who can't? and show the proof is in the pudding..

Some just want to play what they play. (here)

Some will play with you a little and improvise.
Fact is the better you play, the less likely they will be to want to play with you.

I see this in open mics. It becomes a mini-coup d'etat in that any and all players will overplay like mad to try and "outplay" each other.

I guess playing together is not a popular option these days.
If I wanted to see a "guitar war", I'd pop in "crossroads" but I already know Steve Vai loses to Ralph Macchio.. (now you know it was a movie lol)

I often times wonder what Eric Clapton is thinking when he's on stage at some benefit concert playing alongside Albert Lee or Jeff Beck, hoping they won't tear him a new asshole, doing some chicken pickin' thing.. afterall, he has his Eric Clapton reputation to hold up, and does not want to be a dethroned God as they used to call him in the 60's/.. somebody told me Steve Morse absolutelt smoked Eddie Van Halen at another benefit concert..that's not right allowing to let a relatively unknown guitarist like Steve Morse shame Eddie a pop culture icon that he is..

lol You think Eddie had a clue until it was over?

And Steve Morse is hardly unknown..albeit a little on the less popular side.

I know a story about Peter Frampton and this bar in Ohio.
I think I even wrote it in here a ways back.

It was an open mic and Frampton came in looking for trouble.
Long story short, he got trouble.
The host of the open mic who looked like Hillbilly Jim from WWF days whupped that ass and worse yet, my buddy made a recording on a cassette player. (ooh yeah it was THAT long ago)

But we gots the tape still and Frampton left with an ass whup that he wouldn't soon forget.

(Near the end, Frampton stormed off stage and threw his pricey axe into a case, clipped only 1 spring loaded catch and stomped his way out of the bar cursing a blue streak.)

Afterwards someone said his strat fell out of the case on the sidewalk outside. (YIKES)

Geez, I'm glad the open mics I've been going to aren't like that! But I do see a fair share listed that are 'open blues jams' or similary titled, with a band playing, etc. that probably are like that.

I don't give a f*ck that you can shred if its just you running notes up and down the fingerboard. I saw Eric Johnson play a couple of years ago, I was in the 3rd row so could see his finger action. Incredible playing - but absolutely NO feeling or emotion in it whatsoever. :P

People come and people go but you can't fake being able to move the audience.

Some do it and some will never be able to do it.
Why? I haven't the faintest.

I absolutely abhor shredders too Mike... I love your playing Mike, although track 13 caused my diskette drive D to have an error.. could never get track 13 to play.. had to shut my computer down and start back up to get my D and E disk icons to appear again?.. reboot would not fix it, I was worried for a few minutes..
