LOL! I always thought the space programs were critical...If only to keep heavy thinkers around to keep on thinking. If we don't do it, Russia or China will court them and steal them away...

What we NEED, is to drop the research charities that have bilked the crap out of our pockets for decades and who dont produce significant results.:

i.e. Cancer Society

etc...

That's a bad attitude, George. There was a complete systemic breakdown. People died that didn't have to because of human negligence. It wasn't some freak, unexplainable accident, it was 100% preventable by human hand. People should be proactive and be accountable when they screw up. If someone t-boned you while you were driving down the street, and instead of handing your their insurance info, they just shrugged and said "sh*t happens," would you accept that? I doubt it.

Accepting that I / we are not in control of anything has been the most liberating thing I have ever accomplished.
It does not mean I no longer care, indeed it allows me to care and do more without losing focus of the facts.

You don't know and you can't plan for it.
You do what you do and hope for the best.

Like in some card games, I plan to hold all my cards until the bitter end and then lay down my whole hand.
Hopefully I can catch him with some high point cards in his hand and get ahead at least until the next deal...then he'll solidly thrash me but until then, that's the plan.
