The repairman we took our computer to is disabled.
He is visibly very messed up.
I think he has advanced Parkinson's or something.
We try to give him all of our business.
He's a nice guy and does good work.

He has found something he can still do and does it.

I don't know if he still receives any disability benefits.
Maybe.
It depends on his income from the computer shop.

That's all I wanna do.
Except, I wanna play music.
I'm not really much good at anything else.
And it is the only thing that has made me happy.

I get really annoyed when people piss on anybody who needs some help.
Calling them "moochers" or some such Ayn Rand bullsh!t.
It makes me wanna strangle Horatio Alger by his "bootstraps".

Most people, even astoundingly lazy people, get bored sitting around all day.
They also have pride.
They make things for it's own sake, so they can show you, "here, I made this. Try it!"
That is the foundation of Star Trekonomics, for lack of a better word.
People doing what they enjoy doing, without worrying about starving or becoming homeless or not having proper medical care.
The necessities are taken care of and people have no debt.

No one is OWNED by anybody.
Everyone is free.

Unfortunately as long as human beings are involved the only place you'll have that kind of society is on Star Trek of which is MY FAVORITE SHOW! ALL OF THEM!

I'm reading a book you Star Trek fans might find amusing. It's called 'Red Shirts.' Those are the poor slobs whose death can be predicted by their inclusion in an Away Team.

"He's dead, Jim..."

If you wear the red shirt or are part of security in general, you can assure yourself a shitty life, as short as it may be.

There's a reason why life insurance is not available to "security personnel".

"It's a federation mandate". lol

they tried to change that perception is TNG.. Captn, first mate, and counselor all wore red. I always expected any of them to die at any moment. Instead, the people with the dark yellow drew the unlucky card in that series...
