They wear out pretty fast.

We try to eat fairly healthy, when we can afford to.
But, you eat what you can get cheaply.

My girlfriend has diabetes now.
She can't really afford to go on a diabetic diet.
We use sugar substitutes and try to cut out anything that's bad for us.
There's only so much you can do, though.

In lieu of compression hose, could you use athetic /spalding cloth wraps? They can be washed and re-used.
I hear ya about the diabetes diet. Sugar subs are good, but if she can avoid white breads, cookies or anything made out of flour (starch). That, followed by less 'high-fructose syrup based' items , if possible.

I had a mildly similar problem. (Was bordering on edema, COPD...all smoking related) In the beginning I couldn't walk to my mail box without running out of breath (or looking like Boris Karloff at the park) . ... Long story short, to stave off my condition, I began a series of short walks everyday , which I eventually increased to longer walks. I had to quit smoking altogether, drop the salt in my diet, and eat crap-loads of veggies . I can say that all that helped my condition very much....
Could this be similar to your situation?

Dawg, There are many helpful naturals available doctors pooh pooh. One that any one that has ever smoked is GliSODin. You do the research....

Yesterday, I did a really dumb thing....
We went down to the local range,,, COLD, WINDY, and swirling SNOW.
Any way, Gwen went to some off Broadway show in the city, I went with my kids out to the range. They shot at the fifty yard range, cool new gun.

Being alone, I had a position set up at at the 200 yard range. I AM NOT GOING TO KID YOU,,, THAT IS A LONG WALK TO SET UP A TARGET.
Anyway,, The first target I set up was fine, 7 shots decent grouping.
200 yards is a lot longer than most people realize.

Any way, I always carry my own stapler, to put up a new target.
I walked 200 yards down to put up a new target,,,,, MY STAPLE GUN WAS EMPTY!!!!!

Any way I was so intent to put up a new target , that I ran all the 200 yards back, reloaded the staplegun, ran back out, placed the target and ran back in.
All I heard was the field master admonishing all the 50 yard guys for being to slow. "We have some old guy with a cane and he is moving faster than any of you" LOL.

Any way Dawg, There are many things that are good for you when you get older than me and just as fat and ugly.

Now Glen that is funny.

My brother - a very hot lead guitarist was asked to sit in at a nightclub and somebody shouted,"Yeah, let the old guy play!"

It is bizaare. I feel sometimes like I have a fatal disease. My systems breaking down.

Civilians - not a chance - stay in the military if you can. Civilians have 100 % casualties (deaths).
