crunchysoundbite wrote:My brother visited me and my family. I haven't spoke to him since he chewed my ass about quitting a worthless job, last year. I am a man. I am not going to do as my brother dictates I should. I am not going to apologize for my brothers hateful words. He is my brother and I love him. I was not going out of my way to visit him since his rant. He has had a tracheotomy last summer and now uses a buzz box for his voice. He did not apologize for his rant directly, but him coming here was apology enough. He brought me mail that I had sent to my mother and step father when I was in boot camp. My Mother is dead now and my step father probably felt I would get more significance from them than he. I have helped my mother and step father with getting the farm in which he still resides. I feel that people should cherish each other especially family. I can't think of what I could need to apologize to anyone in my family for. I do not regret doing things I have for members of my family. I have forgiven things that they have done to me even when they were heinous. Many times I see people that do cross the line of just human kindness to utter out of the way abuse. I do not have any use for those people. This Christmas, I ask for peace on earth and that we all start with family. Pay it forward when you can. Love those that love you and be happy with what you have. I am a simple man as the song suggests, and am easily pleased. Jesus said you should forgive 70 times 7. After that, I do not put myself in a position that I may need to forgive again.

Well stated Crunchy.. Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

I received nothing music related.
I got a block of cheese, some chocolate, and some fruit.
The real gifts I got were the squeals of delight from my little girls! Yeah!!!
Awesome Christmas indeed!

A typical day during that 2week period will be setting crab pots in the back
of an inlet the night before. Waking up to fried baloney and egg sandwiches
then retrieving the pots. Trolling all day long and filling the fish boxes
with king salmon. When waiting for bites we will gorge on freshly steamed
dungeness crabs, view the humpback wales bubble-net fishing and
keeping an eye out for sea lions who want to steal our catch. Surrounded by
snow capped glacier covered mountains on one side and the gulf of Alaska on the other, the
abundance of bald eagles and occasional pod of Orca will also fill our eyes with memories.
I will be careful not to fall in the 40some degree water at night when my
brothers and I will be enjoying each others war stories and Knob Creek Rye.
Of all my trips to Alaska, this will be the most special I am sure.[/b]
