This song is soul crushing. I guess it's the saddest song I've ever recorded. It was written by Ashley Kizer circa 95 like the last song I posted called "She came from Memphis". It is called "As if you knew." It's the fourth song on my player. It took three sessions, 14 tracks, and I don't know how many total hours.

Critiques welcome.

Nice job, sounds like Doors meets a little C+W ish.

The main vocals seem awfully treble to me. (imo)

The guitar seems to be not quite so treble and a bit too far back in the mix.

I'd mix it so that the vocal was more like the guitar and vice versa.
(vocal not quite so treble and the guitar more treble and forward in the mix.)

Love your wurly..as usual.

I almost want to put a Univibe effect on your vocal and give it a Leslie type effect.

But that's just my idea of what you played, for what it's worth..

Paul, when I listen to your music it reminds me of the first time I heard the Eagles! Very nice brother! personally I would like to hear some percussion in that song even if it is just a hi hat tap. I liked the guitar solo it fits the song. I would like to hear more bluesy bending notes in the solo in combination with the sliding notes but that's coming from a guitar player. The musician in me says "great job"

I actually keep hearing a "heartbeat" kick only when the solo ends throughout the last verse.

Great job as usual, but if I were producing it there would be big Phil Collins-style drums coming in before the second verse. I tried to listen like I had never heard you before and it was great. It's got hit written all over it.
