I think people are better off not drinking, "it's a crutch at best".

I think everybody misses the critical point of what it 'means' to be a Christian.
Its not about splitting hairs on definition. These arguments are a luxary for the educated , who can read.

God rigged this planet to work against us, that he may test our love and faith. None of this earth, not your families, not your botttles of wine, not your guitars belong to you. whatever you strive to achieve, without God in your conscience and heart, it is pointless. (What knowledge can you possibly bring to the table of God? What action can you possibly commit that buys you the ticket to heaven?)
Boasters, beware! All of you are guilty... game over!

If we all committed to the action the above vid encourages then we would all have our tics punched to the pearly gates !

If the purpose of drinking is to get drunk, then the problem isn't in the alcohol.

I regularly have a beer when the occasion calls for it. Haven't had one in several months but all this talk made me thirsty so I got a 6-pack which will be shared with my brother for his birthday tomorrow (end of the world, ya know?)

If I really had a problem with alcohol, I'd already be drinking them. The last time I brought a 6-pack home was about 15 years ago. 5 of them sat in the refrigerator for almost a year before my wife threw them out.

The point is that it is entirely possible to drink and remain sober. It is a cultural morality that equates tee-totaling and christianity. No where do the scriptures forbid alcohol, though they clearly advise us to be sober at all times. If you don't have enough self-control to limit yourself, then please....don't drink.

We sure go off on a zillion tangents in these threads....

LOL 8-)

Well yeah I meant drinking the way I see people drinking, not having a few in one night.

Self-control is the message and it's easy to lose perspective and get "wrecked". After it's over, you'll still be back to the same game, just 48+ hours later without a plan.

That 48 hours could be better spent.
