What's going on guys? My name is Mike Ziegler, and this is my first...2 hours here? Haha.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello. I've been composing cinematic music for nearly 6 years now, slowly..slowly....slowly teaching myself more and more.

I do this sort of stuff: https://soundcloud.com/centrist/elegy-of-the-king

I'm always looking for a collab or meeting musicians that have a love for music just as much as I do, so don't be afraid! :P

Hey, thanks so much! I've been aimlessly wandering around the forum for a bit now, and even though there's not a ton within my age group, I think I'll enjoy it here for the time being.

It's mostly old folks who like to bitch at each other but you may enjoy it. Have you gotten any bites on getting your music in a video or movie?

If I do anything for anyone music related, it's more than likely charity work. Aspiring film producers and whatnot needing something composed for their projects, or even entry-level game designers.

I do have one nibble though. I'm working on a piece for an upcoming game studio for a trailer they've been working on, and if they receive funding for it, they want me to be lead sound design, which is like..$200,000 a year. Cushy.

Buuut, in all likelyhood it won't go through, and I'll still be washing semi trucks for a living. Haha.

I'm alright with all of it though, music is my passion. If people feel like tipping me, I'm all for it, but I don't think I could charge people for my music. It's like trying to change the world and making the world pay for it? Nah. I'll stick with being humble and poor. :P

Edit: And thank you Johnny. :)

If you would like work in film and video you might contact this guy:
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/konrad-swenson/3/939/21b

He does video projects all over the world including highly lucrative commercial projects and philanthropic works. Konrad runs a tight ship and can be pretty demanding but he is the best of the best. Your music might be right up his alley.

Nice work, your production sounds are very close to Korg's "Korg Pa2X" quality.

It always works best when the music comes from the heart and soul...

You seem to have both.

Nice Job Centrist,

It seems to have a touch for Samuel Barber's 'Adagio for Strings' op11.

Also check Out Max Richter for his instrumental " The nature of Daylight" (A glorious piece that he mashed up with an old vocalist's (dInah Washington's) version of ":This Bitter Earth"

Adagio for Strings is one of my absolute favorite pieces of music of all time.

That, and The Four Seasons. So much intensity. I love it all. ;D

I'll check out the second link as well! Thanks for the kind words!
