Hi, just wondering if i'm in the right place, really. There seem to be a lot of folk on here who are in gigging bands, or looking to set gigging bands up, but i'm really just looking for folks to jam with, exchange ideas and learn from each other. Are there many 'casual' folk on here, or can anyone suggest any other sites that might better suit me? (and of course, if you're in or near Milton Keynes, check out my profile if you fancy a bit of a blow...)

Quite honestly, Bandmix is not a great place to find bandmates or even others just wanting to jam. Of course there is no ONE good place for this anywhere else, either.
Advertise on your local CraigsList, put ads on the bulletin board of yoru local music store, hang out on a street corner with an acoustic guitar and try to find others that way!

Hey guitarmike, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately we don't really have a good equivalent of Craigslist on this side of the pond - wish we did, used it when i lived in SF for a while and it was great... Once upon a time the classified section of a magazine called Melody Maker was the standard way of hooking up with other musicians over here, but, as with a lot of print media, that's gone the way of the dodo.

Still, not all gloom - i have had a couple of responses to my ad over the last week, which is rather nice. And if anyone's reading this looking for a collab, that doesn't mean i'm not still interested to hear from you - the more the merrier.
